I missed an alarm due to meetings & no nav cards left - so have
lost a few miles to Eric - well done!
Also, well done IG - doing well despite no light sails.
Transat starts tomorrow - if you're interested.

       Hi bth
Yes, well done, Eric. You've manged to pull out a healthy lead.
The winds have been all over the place in the last 24 hours and
look pretty light and fluky all the way to The Owers. Light
sails would certainly be a help!
I think I'll give the Transatlantic a miss. Enough excitement
       in The Magellan!
       Good sailing.

       Monday 18:17
Last night I was suffering from 'mal de mer" or
"virtualboatitis" as wife said. Tried to navigate in bed with
iPhone and unable to read the tiny screen even with glasses.
Result was up and down the placings.
Spent today trying to catch up, with adjustments every 10 to 20
       minutes or so.
I managed a downwind gybe successfully when the winds changed
       rapidly, as follows:
Steady on course till WA increased to 135 deg.
Changed to wind locked at 135 deg
Waited until heading left of desired course by 45 deg.
Gybed by 90 deg and set locked at 135 deg on new side.
       Waited until on desired course.
Reset to manual on desired course.
Just passing south of the Isle of Wight right now.
Ten of the real boats are now showing in blue, albeit with a
       time delay.
I can see 35 boats on Marine Traffic (AIS), also a 199m long
Britany Ferries about to drive through the middle of the fleet
       at 19kt.
Out this evening unfortunately for rounding the mark off
Portsmouth, so have to use two some waypoints from the barrel
       and guess the wind ..
That's life. Fair winds to all.
       Eric
       Tues 7am
Waypoints disaster. Spinnaker in water and got tangled up with
the turning mark. -200 places !!
