Hi Em, IG will be sailing this leg: reaching sails and foils
again, and hoping some of the polish applied on the first leg is
still working.
Good luck.

I see that, at very short notice, the course for Leg 2 of the
real Figaro race was changed (Scillies, Isle of Wight, finish).
Not sure why, but it's a shorter course. Presumably it came too
late for VR to make the change for us. So, Isle of Man, here we
come.

I managed to get started, by mistake, in this race so I thought
I'd better finish, despite being out most of the time. I set
off 3 hours late and got a nice send off from the few remaining
spectators who had not gone home! All remote via borrowed
iphone6.

Actual Atlantic sea view at 27N on the 11th.
Good going round the Isle of Man. I was there very recently just
before the TT race started and the roads were closed. A couple
of friends had a go as pillion passengers. They were kitted out
in full safety boots, clothing and helmet etc and each had an
expert driver on proper race bike. Scary going up to 85mph max
on the de-restricted mountain part of the course. They
survived. There are no speed limits on the open roads but
normal 30mph in town with 2-way traffic, prior to practice and
race days. The real solo racers get up to 179 mph with winner
last year averaged 135 mph.
I just crossed the line a few minutes ago (13 June 9pm). Says I
my result 5897 is "Provisional", whatever that means.
I've been through the list of the Britpack team (30 members so
far, out of 50 max) and have found the following additional
boats listed as participating in this race:
Dutchy
harrison
MarkRecall
Geogo
TDeventer
iffy
With Lockkeeper7, Inspector Gadget and satsig that makes 9 boats
in total.
The Britpack team position was 112 with 360.8 points earlier.
The "No Money Sailors" with 18 in their team are doing better at
position 66 with 529 points.
I hope we can get 10 active boats in each leg of Clipper 19/20.
13 members did not participate in this race. I was unable to
find details for 6.
I've been adding them to my 'followed' in the hope that they may
show up as green icons. Not all seem to do so.
