       Solo Maitre Coq

       Who's doing this race??
I'm in and have taken all the options except Radio. Pro winches
are going to save you time as there will be a lot of
tacking/gybing. Only a short race but going to be intense,
plenty of opportunity to find rocks. The start time will benefit
       all those in Europe.

IG's on for this. I rather like these short, sharp races -
going to make a refreshing change from Magellan!
Foils and reaching sails only. Will doubtless rue not having
       the nav options.

       Hi Skippers,
Sorry I won't be entering this - too busy with work.
Feel free to create your own leader board.

Ok I've splurged a bit and gone for Foils, Light and Reaching.
Can't see how I'm going to make any Credits out of this race but
the psychological break from Mr Magellan's world will be worth
       it!   ::)

Well it was busy for the first few hours but has settled after
going through the first gate. The leaders have stayed to the
East I suspect due to the changing wind angle. However they've
also made a lot of tacks and as I'm without winches I've stayed
on the westerly route accompanied by IG & JB.
Looking to tack onto stb for mark 2 in about 2-3 hours.

Disaster. Just realised (thanks to SH) that IG has missed the
second mark. Having to sail back for about 3 hours to round it
correctly. Oh well, sack the nav!

Oh no - very unlike IG's nav.

I think it's fair to say that no-ones had a great race, except
SeaHog who came in at 135th.
I scored at least 10x his points at 1365? All in all -
forgettable though I learnt some tricks. I just wish I could
find my old nav kit which would help id the turn points.
Pleasure to be home? Nah, more of a relief that it's over. As
for the Magellan, I was it was over. Might be time for a break
       from this game.

....and having thrown our nav overboard, IG misses yet another
mark (thanks this time to CT for letting e know) and has to sail
back for a few hours. Not our finest hour, and we might just
finish in time for the start of the next of this series. Just
got to tack under that wretched bridge during the night - know
I should have bought some nav options.
