I fear we are unlikely to see those northern yachts again - save
a drink for us at the bar.
Well done LK for your better routing, and curse those light
sails of yours and the sense you had to pack them.

Yes well done Carina!
I thought she'd gone too early and would have to make a couple
of tacks, but I was clearly wrong about that. She's had a 10%
wind advantage for the past 24 hours so it was a good call by
her. Now it's her wind advantage v my point of sail advantage.
So we'll see.
Must say I thought the southerners breeze would have had more
effect than has happened. But my reading of the weather in this
final stage has been a bit off.

Thanks people
it seemed I did gain on CT tacking of earlier into more breeze,
but with CT lower wind angle she is currently going faster and
gaining on me, going to be a close run into the finish!

Carl (currently in 463rd place) and Carina. In fact - Harrison
and IG, seriously well done all! well sailed! I hope you all

My thinking last night (somewhat flawed as per usual) was that
there was stronger breeze ahead, so I sacrificed "height" for
speed. So yes, I did get down to the mid 400's but there was
always going to be a price, especially when those with code 0's
came back into play. Now at about 750 with 4 hours to go.
I should be able to hold Carina off (fingers crossed) as we're
going at a similar rate, of more interest is how much can
Harrison and IG pull us back as their boats have a 1.5 knt speed
advantage. We'll all be bunched up at the finish that's for
sure!
