       Like B9, my original plan was to go for the gap, but the fresher
       breeze to the north looked good, so we gybed early to get across
       there, then again to pick up the shift.
       Bit surprised that B9's detour round the island didn't pay
       better dividends.

       Yes, likewise. Thought B9 would be better off.  All the
       forecasts said 2x the wind ... 2D map perhaps?
