Firstly a massive "excuse me" to Windydave, who I have not been
picking up as he negotiated the Southern Ocean.
Congrats to LK for reaching the equator. I suspect JellyBean,
Captain RR and Inspector Gadget will reach it today in the other
       direction.
We had a really bad day on B9 - firstly I tried to tighten the
sails to keep the speed up - then worst of all changed my mind
(twice) about routing, but the reality was the wind had gone.
It's building again now. I think there's going to be a great
opportunity for a start/restart on Saturday night. We'll keep
an eye on that. Meanwhile try to get to the first gate before
       then.

       Cheers Roland,
LK is now in the North Atlantic (4th in our table) and my nav is
routing us out west for the best pressure. The forecast don't
look too bad - "did I say that out loud" doh ;-(
Currently making 17.2kts which should improve as I clear the
       effect of convergence zone.
Well done to those about to pass the equator. . . again
       Em

Good luck, Penquin. Good time to start. May the vin rouge
       carry you home!
IG will cross the Equator, south bound, in a few hours, beating
our time for the first attempt. So far, the navigation has
proved straightforward, just maintaining maximum boat speed as
we head south. But things look a bit more complicated from here
       on.
Good to see LK well on the pace.
