       Hi Skippers,
       1 . . . . . . . . Inspector Gadget (LHR). . . . . . . . . .
       +1814.69nm
       2 . . . . . . . . B9FUN (R/f) . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
       . . . . .+8.57nm
       3 . . . . . . . . Lockkeeper7 (LR/f). . . . . . . . . . . . . .
       . . . +10.8nm
       4 . . . . . . . . Huckleberry Finn (?) . . . . . . . . . . . . .
       . . . +71.3nm
Think I've forgotten what dry land looks like.
I too looked at the alternative option to avoid the fickle wind
around Haiti - however, after my North Atlantic off script
worked so spectacularly badly - hum ???? I would have to push
the head wind for around 36hrs, then the benefits kick in.
By the way - I decided to try the IMOCA World Champ races, might
as well start the Vendee prep early.

Yes, you’ve hardly had time to dry your boots, Em! Good idea to
keep your hand in with the IMOCA.
I see that Your Mom SA has come out of stealth on a course to go
west about round Cuba. That’s pretty seriously off-piste (a la
LK!). The IG navigator is urging us to go straight between the
islands notwithstanding the patchy wind forecast. We’ll
       probably take that advice.
With only useless cards available it was welcome to have a night
with no course or sail changes. Can’t last.

I saw that some were going for the west option - It's a long way
back around Florida. I've been edging toward the East waiting
for others to take the Eastern route, but it's not shaping up.
The further north we go the less likely that option and the wind
is backing so any tack would give a worse angle on the new
route. Despite hours sat tight to the wind I may call it a day
and head for the central gap. Windy is starting to predict
better winds for Haiti although northerly - so tacking into the
       wind!
