Well, IG is just stretching his lead a little and B9 is hanging
on well. I see the leader gala5356 is tracking the coast very
well - too much risk of multiple hairy's for me.

Not sure why the leaders are short tacking along the coast, but
it seems to be extending their lead; and as Emma says, brings
too many chances of close encounters with the beach. We on IG
only tack when we have to - risks spilling the gin!
As predicted, this leg is turning into a hard upwind slog - I
recall the last time the real race came here the wind and sea
were so bad that some of them took shelter behind islands for a
while.

Winds going light and I'm wondering if an inshore route is going
to open up for the stragglers. Nothing else has worked the leg,
but c'est la vie.
Good going from everyone else, but I suspect this leg may depend
on the positioning relative to what this High pressure does.
