Well, for some of us, this leg is a large dose of da ja vu.
Personally, I’m looking forward to warmer conditions (I type
this in my warm, snow covered boat).
I’m very please to say we have Dizzy and RCLaser with us this
time - I hope they join this forum.
Sail well shippers and please update your profile with this leg
boat options.

Confused already!
Seems like a lot of the yellow flashed (Top VSR) yachts have
opted to tack and stay north. I can see that there is a thin
strip of wind which will extend east along the coast, but it
runs out - doesn't it? is there a way around the north of this
ridge of high pressure? I can't see it.
I see Rob the inspector seems to have opted for this. Any
ideas?
For me the plan always was, and is, head south and pick up the
winds as fast as I can ???
Welcome to Dizzy and John on RC - good to see your colours
flying again!

Only heading east for a while before joining the rush to the
south, since it looks like it might give a better ride into the
first depression. Could go horribly wrong! Overall strategy is
to get down to around 55 degrees south into the big up the
depression stream.
Yes, welcome to Dizzy and RC Laser. Good to have you with us
again.

Thanks all for your welcome. I thought I should give this leg a
go as it is fairly straightforward. I've bought staysail and
"strong" sails but nothing else, not even a bottom rub!
My plan seemed extreme to go due south from the start but it
looks like quite a few doing similar.
Feel free to use messages in race to me.
Good luck all.

I have come across quite a few of the old Britpack so have told
them about this forum.
Sideshow, Penquin, Kewcom, Bootscooter, GibDodger, Mullionman,
SxBoy, Wind in the willows, slipperypete
I suspect there are others but the "GB flag" option only gives
the first 50.

Good work, John. It would be good to have a few more signings.

I have told a few of them, can't remember who at the mo. As I
may not do another leg it may be best if you contacted them in
race to join.
