Questions.

So I have two questions,
1. Can anybody explain why we see so many different ranking
positions? When you first open up the race screen, you see your
position in the top left hand corner. If you then click on your
boat, I see a different position, sometimes thousands different
from the first screen and then from the menu | ranking (top
right hand corner) I see yet a 3rd different position, although
this generally agrees with one of the other two.
2. And my second question is: What is the Hairy trophy? I've
seen plenty of references to it in this forum, but none that
explain to me what it is.
Good sailing everyone

Hi Geoff
I can't help with explaining the different positions shown, but
the Hairy Trophy is awarded at the end of each leg to the
skipper who has the most groundings. Its origins go back to a
very early race, and my recollection is that a then competitor
confused us all by referring to Hairys when he meant islands
(not sure why but Em might be able to help), and somehow it has
stuck. So, not one you want to win!
Season's greetings to you and all,
Rob

Tks Rob, 1 out of 2 then.
So, I had better remember to declare any groundings then.....
(If I want my name in lights!).
Good sailing
Geoff

If memory serves, this term started as we raced up the east
coast of Australia - I know there is a "Hairy islands" but not
sure if they are there or not.
