A Guide on Palette Expansion at home?

Is anyone up for a post on it for a newbie / person like me who
knows nothing about it? I would love a walk through on things
for non-surgical expansion as it seems like an art form but the
info is spread across a lot of areas with a lot of filler posts
between.
Thank you!

This has been a widely discussed topic with not enough reliable
information. It seems many orthodontists do not want to use
expanders and will rather only use daemon braces. I know there
have been many people who have used expanders by themselves,
however with the exception of asdfasdf, not many are willing to
share any information.
My only concern with expanders is running the risk of misaligned
jaws.
A guide would be great!

Can expenders be use in conjunction with Damon braces?

How to Expand like a Pro in a Nutshell
Based both on internet research and personal experience.
You order your expander (="Active Plate" for the upper jaw)
including the impression kit from bracesshop.de. They send you
the kit first, you make your impressions and send it back to
them. Within two weeks they send you your custom made expander.
Voilą, it fits perfectly.
I expand approximately one turn (=0.25 mm) every other day. The
max amount of expansion for this expander is 8.5 mm.
Thanks to the fact that I have gone through traditional
orthodontic treatment, I have a very good sense of what pressure
and pain is "normal" and what could possibly be harmful for my
teeth and jaw. If I was able to wear the expander during the
whole day, I think I could expand even faster, maybe one turn
every day.

I believe not. Expander goes first, then the braces.

Braces are a scam. Plain as that. Once you expand a certain
amount your teeth will naturally align itself. The root cause of
crowding is not having enough space for your teeth to fit in the
lower and upper jaw. Expansion fixes that by widening the palate
and enlarging the lower jaw via GH secretion that accompanies
improved nasal breathing. Therefore, expansion is all you need.

Calling braces a scam is slightly unfair, their existence is
merely a result of a misguided approach. Good intentions
combined with low awareness is a recipe for disaster.
Nevertheless, braces are not completely dysfunctional, they can
be used to fine tune the alignment of individual teeth very
effectively. Much more can go wrong with the function of dental
arches than just having a deficient palate. But for many of us
here it certainly is all you need, as you say.

I am personally going to stick to oral posture for expansion. My
incisors actually have a distinct gap between them now, whereas
they used to be so tight together from braces that nothing could
fit between besides floss.
I am not worried about this as I suspect the other teeth will
align themselves accordingly, and the gaps will close over time.
It's all about being patient and committing to a long term
solution. That being said, if you are older you may not feel
this way.

Oral posture surely is better than nothing, but it's not really
enough to achieve prominent expansion. If you, like me, have
very narrow face, flat cheekbones and dead-like eyes, you really
have nothing to loose with the expander.

Just make sure to expand at least 1mm per week and chew hard
things while expanding. Chewing hard things ensures that you not
only have good muscle tone, but that your teeth are firmly
rooted in your jaw as well, which reduces the chances of teeth
tipping.

Does anyone know if this expander has any advantage over others?
