How many MM of expansion per day can I expect from a normal
palate expander?

Title says it all, thanks. I am wondering how long it will take
for me to get a wider smile and face. Will palate expansion
affect the maxilla too?

Hello, in this video on YT - "Is Palatal Expansion Possible in
Adults by Dr Mike Mew" - Mew says that he aims for 1mm per week.
I don't have any personal experience with expansion yet, but I
believe that it should expand the maxilla too.

I see, but I'll be buying a palate expander to use on myself, so
I don't have an orthodontist to watch me.

From what I've seen, Mike Mew says 1mm per week is safe and
anything more isn't great in his opinion...

The issue is that I won't know how much this expander can really
do.
I'm guessing I'll just have to measure at home instead.

How do you plan on going about your palate expansion? Are you
going to be overseen by a dentist or orthodontist?
