Can I start my palate expansion after getting my braces off?

Hey guys! I'm new to NCR but have been interested in the subject
for a long time, but I am finally getting into it.
I want to get a palate expander to get a wider face, as I have
the "long head" syndrome and a poor face width/height ratio
       (fWHR).
       I have a few questions:
       1. (Title) Can I start my palate expansions after getting my
braces off? I am finally getting my braces off, which I've worn
for two years now, but I've heard you need to wear braces AFTER
palate expansion - I'm just not to keen on getting braces AGAIN
       after getting them off.
       2. Could I wear a palate expander only at night or something
similar to get the best results, like the ones from myobrace?
Also, how would one go about "mewing" on a palate expander?
       3. I don't have a lot of money. Can I get a palate expander
cheap online (preferably only something to wear at night) or do
I need to pay thousands for a dentist? I could go to the free
dentist in my country but I seriously doubt they'll give me a
palate expander for cosmetic reasons alone, as I am already
"finished" with my treatment from braces.
       4. I have a very asymmetric face, probably due to teeth grinding
and chewing on one side. My right side has a weak jaw but hollow
cheeks and the reverse for my left side, I have also found that
my teeth on my left side of the face are very short (due to
grinding). Should I visit an orthodontist to shorten my teeth to
       get a better bite?
A lot of question, but thanks anyways... What I am mainly
looking for is a beginner guide, I need to get a wider face
overall and a more forward grown maxilla, but definitely mostly
       the first one.

Dont bother buying a palatal expander! Your tongue is a natural
palatal expander use that. Your teeth are probably perfectly
straight already and nicely aligned :) Try to keep good oral
posture especially at night and you'll some nice gradual change

That's my guess. I have been "mewing" and keeping my tongue on
the top of my mouth, and I have definitely seen some positive
changes - now whether these are applicable to puberty or
whatever is debatable... But since I started doing it six months
ago, my face has changed radically for the better, people have
started commenting on my prominent cheekbones now and hollow
cheeks - I also feel more attractive but it could be a placebo.
However wouldn't a palate expander work more efficiently and
stronger than the tongue? If I could find one for a good price
especially for when I sleep (because I don't use enough pressure
in tongue when I sleep) that'd be great.

I really wouldn't recommend it. You've had great changes just
mewing so that's brilliant. slow pressure always wins. If you
expand rapidly with the expander you risk tipping your teeth and
worst case scenario detaching your upper jaw completely from
your palate so you will widen your palate but not your upper jaw
and trust me you dont want that! Flat cheekbones wide palate no
no no. Your getting good noticeable change why risk that to mess
your oral posture and your beautiful teeth. Palatal expanders
are for people with narrow palates who cant fit their tongue
their and have trouble with getting that oral posture, you've
got it already! you dont need anything else. If you try to
maintain that tongue to palate posture throughout the day as
much as possible you'll naturally do it at night. Also a bit of
mouth tape on your lips at night wont hurt.

Well, actually, when I do mew the edges of my tongue do touch
the teeth quite a lot... not sure if that's normal however, but
the tongue doesn't fit neatly and perfectly like I feel it
should do. My jaw is quite wide and defined actually, I chewed a
lot of gum as a kid so I think that's why (and I still do, that
being said my jaw is lopsided due to teeth grinding on my left
side of the face). I'd like to widen my face since my face is
way too thin, I'm quite young so results should definitely be
       possible.
I also use mouth tape on my lips every night, so far so good.

You are correct about the mewing, a palatal expander especially
a non rapid one is pointless once you have mastered the correct
tongue to palate posture since they do the same thing.
A palatal expander pressed up on the hard palate slightly
pushing on the teeth is exactly to the letter what the tongue
does once its in the correct position, there are tons of people
even now who mew bt arent getting the results they want and the
reason being is simply because there tongue is not in the right
position even when they think it is.
The tongue tip should be at least half to 3/4 of an inch behind
your front teeth tucked in behind and pressed agaisnt ridge (
the bump/hill part of the palate ) so that the rest of the
tongue flattens completely over the hard/soft palate
respectively, this isnt easy n feels odd and ive been doin it
wrong for ages myself bt once its mastered your maxilla alters
within months as it would from an expander.

Same. I had been focusing too much on posterior tongue and soft
palate (I had read this was important) and didn't start getting
results until I started pushing more with the anterior tongue.
When done correctly the posterior tongue will rise up
nevertheless, but it will result in a bit different function and
sensation when its only assisting the front tongue instead of
generating the main force against your palate.

       Progress
The posterior is very important bt will not produce the upwards
force needed until the entire tongue is housed where its
supposed to be and it starts with the tip tuckd in n behind the
ridge/bump half inch behind front teeth, like u say the rest jus
follows up n in this position it produces the required forces to
alter your maxilla to where it should be, if looked on from a
side view it makes perfect sense as the hard/soft palate looks
concave shaped n the tongue kind of hill shaped perfectly
designed to fit in this concave shape, done this way the tongue
tip is no where near the front teeth and it feels odd first
month or so but thats because almost nobody has normal tongue
posture, hence modern melting faces and attractice faces seem
       rare.

Okay guys, so I just took off my braces... and boy is my smile
       fucking shit!
I have a creepy pedophile tier smile because of my thin palate
and poor width of my teeth... could I wear a strong palate
expander while to fix this problem or would the thingy on the
inside of my teeth make this useless?
