hi,i've been using the belt facepulling technique where you
fasten the belt to a pull up bar and then lean back and use your
bodyweight as the pulling force but after a couple of weeks the
left side of my neck was starting to hurt so i wrapped a sweater
around my neck while doing it and the pain went away but now i
feel the tip of my index finger of my left arm a little numb
which i think comes from my neck..has anyone else experienced
anything similar?
[/quote]
Yeah that is a reckless method. Let's say you weigh the average
70 kg / 150 lbs. Then consider how fragile face and neck are.
They are not made to withstand such forces. It's huge overkill,
because facepulling works just fine with much lesser forces. Any
extra force won't give additional benefit, but it does increase
the risk of injury.
If you're cabable of pushing your posterior tongue on the soft
palate and drive it through towards the roof of your throat, you
probably won't need to facepull at all. You will start feeling
pressure on your face almost immediately.

yes i've been mewing for about 6 months and my progress was
starting to really slow down the last 2 months so i started the
belt facepulling.i'm 23 so i guess i'll just have to accept that
it's going to take a long time

How significant has your progress been in these 6 months? Have
you been performing/receiving any NCR? Given that you still have
potential for improvement in the first place, it should help you
push through your plateau by relieving some of the tension
you've been accumulating in your skull.
For the past couple of weeks I've been inflating through each
turbinate 2-5 times a day depending how much I crave it (got
this idea from user Walrus who had had success with increasing
the frequency), and it seems like mewing and occassional
towelpulling have been more effective during this time than
during the previous 1½ months when I was doing inflations only
every other day and one side per session. I think my cheeks are
finally starting to fill in and eyes beginning to gain more
support from orbital rims. Pretty exciting stuff.
I've been using the bare minimum amount of pressure needed to
make the ears pop. So far there have been no side effects, so
I'm going to keep up with this more intense treatment frequency
until my body tells otherwise.

i have made some very good progress these 6 months.when i
started i had a huge asymmetry in my jaw/chin,(one side of the
jaw was recessed & not developed at all while the other was
sharper & chin was pointing towards the undeveloped side),almost
flat cheekbones, receding chin, sclera show and weak
brow-ridge.now the jaw asymmetry has improved very much but i
still have work, cheekbones have greatly improved as they've
moved up very close to my eyes and more forward, sclera show is
almost completely gone,brow-ridge has come more forward, chin has
come more forward as well,it's still pointing to one side but
it's improving.the progress has slowed down the last 2 months
and i don't get the cracking sound of the jaw as often anymore
but i get a clicking sound a lot (which i assume means that the
bone is moving at a way slower rate).how long do you estimate
that it's going to take to fix my jaw/chin asymmetry
completely?a year maybe?i've also began the thumb face pulling
technique for a week now (2-3 min sessions 3 times a day) along
with belt facepulling & mewing.
what is NCR?is it a crane that you put on your head?sorry i'm
new to this site.

That doesn't sound bad at all.
NCR is short for neurocranial restructuring, and it involves
inflating latex balloons deep inside your nose/upper throat in
order to generate pressure against sphenoid bone and to loosen
its hold on maxilla and other bones in the skull. It's excellent
for correcting facial asymmetries, even more so than mewing.
It's hard to estimate how long it will take you to reach your
destination without being able to see any pictures of your face,
but most will achieve plenty of progress in 1-2 years, many of
those being older than you and me. NCR should speed up this
process.
The great thing is that you can perform NCR for yourself without
having to pay hundreds of dollars to go see a certified
professional. It may look a bit intimidating at first glance,
but it's pretty easy and safe to perform once you get the hang
of it. PM me your email adress if you're interested and I'll
send you the self treatment guide.

For facepulling advice take a look
at this website. I have done facepulling before and I admit
after using strong force for short amounts of time I definitely
feel relief from the popping that I have in my jaw on the right
side, but this is temporary and after a while it goes back to
normal. I think this is because the maxilla is temporarily
lifted into the position it is meant to be in so my jaw
functions correctly, but because the pulling is not constant or
for long it then returns to its original position.
I definitely think facepulling for long periods of time is more
likely to work than short periods of time. Bones are malleable
under muscle but are still strong, and need to move gradually.

Word of caution. Be careful with the way you face pull. If done
improperly it can promote premature wrinkling especially of the
nasolabial folds.
