Day 12: I decided to treat both sides today. I still felt more
expansion down into the throat and couldn't get that same
satisfying outward expansion I had for a few days earlier. Maybe
I'm just better aligned after several sessions. At least I'm
gagging less, with Improv's thumb trick and being more
accustomed to the sensation. I think tomorrow I will try a small
finger cot to see if I can better localize to the nasopharynx.

Awesome progress reeno, Yeah after some months you get so used
to ncr that you will feel bad if you miss one day of treatment
;D
I wonder if you're taking pictures to track your facial
progress, those are a good motivation when you look back at them
after some months. Everytime I have a doubt about ncr I just
look at my pictures and damn...I feel like I'm killin it

I tried to take some pictures on my phone (front and profile),
but they aren't the best quality.

Oh, well :) I do it mostly because It's hard to notice changes
only by eyesight

It's great to have such a detailed diary from you
reenochrobinson. Its helping me improve my technique too! I wish
I had started taking photos as soon as I even started mewing, I
have a few to show progress but I should have monitored it more
closer. I saw on another blog a girl compared her passport
photos, I think that's one of the best ways as the lighting and
angle is more likely to be the same.

Something I've been thinking about is the position of the body
during treatment. Whatever abstruse proprioceptive tests
professional NCR practitioners perform somehow informs the way
they orient the patient's arms, legs, etc. in a manner that the
inflation is supposed to achieve optimal effect. In Ben's
instructions, he says he performs the treatment standing in
front of a mirror. Since everything I've read and watched shows
nasal release/nasal specific and NCR performed with the patient
supine, I have been lying down for all of my sessions.
Considering the effect of gravity, it seems to me there will be
different amounts of force opposing the pressure of the balloon
pushing up against the sphenoid. This could have a negligible
impact, but intuitively I've imagined that when I lie down, the
weight from inside the cranium isn't opposing the force of the
balloon. I'm debating if it might be advantageous to introduce
some variety so that as the balloon expands, it will face
counterforces from different directions and allow for expansion
along different vectors. I might try standing up for tomorrow's
session. Maybe I'll perform the next reclining at a 45 degree
angle. Heck, I suppose I could even try it with my head upside
down off the side of the bed. Let me know what position you use
for your sessions, and if you think my hypothesis is absurd!

Yea that thought ran through my mind at some point
But figuring how to hang me upside down was too much work so I
decided to keep standing

Day 13: I treated both sides again today using a smaller finger
cot to try and prevent expansion down into throat. I think it
helped. I'll try the same size again tomorrow, but I think I'm
going to return to alternating sides. As I was inserting the
finger cot in my nose today, I noticed that my nostrils might be
looking more symmetrical in size. I don't see any difference in
the deviation in the bridge of my nose, but this position has
always made my right nostril slightly more closed than the left.
I could be wrong, but it seems like they are now closer to the
same size.
