Doumi- I don't necessarily think it's size as I know a few
people with small round heads, but you can just tell their face
has developed properly and everything is in the right place.
That's why I think it's crucial to focus on this in the
development stage in children the more we learn; I think once a
face has grown long and a nose has lengthened it's much harder
to shorten, rather than just keep the face growing forward and
therefore short whilst it develops. I agree with you that it's
definitely easier to widen a jaw, enough people have proved that
now, let's just hope there's more proof of forward growth too!
As for the retainer, I didn't have any of those sort of
problems, and I like in the Uk. The whole process was quite
smooth, communication was good considering the language barrier,
and the final product is outstanding!
Allnicc12- seems we are very much on the same page! I'll be
using the retainer I bought from the German website as it fits
very well and has hooks. As for finding a dentist I haven't even
started looking as I don't have the money, but I'm shocked
you've found one that offers it for £1000- minimum I have found
so far from reviews is £6000! Where is the dentist who has
offered you that if you don't mind me asking? Definitely agree
mewing works even if it's very slow, I think it's vital even
just to prevent things from getting worse.

MJON, about the screws and the amount of expansion you want, a
doctor said here:
HTML https://www.realself.com/question/removable-palate-exapanders-effective-fixed,<br
/>" The key is to have physiologic expansion with a removable
appliance putting pressure to the roof of the mouth, not the
teeth and using no more than 2-3 activations (1/4 mm each) per
week. "
also can you guys share some resources for self-ncr? I bought
the plate expander and I'll be using it with face pulling and
hopefully, self-ncr.

therealadam thanks for that information, I've been wearing it
over night and only turning it once a week, but I still think I
am going to fast by turning it too much and will slow it down.
I'm treating it similar to the DNA appliance, which is supposed
to be worn 16 hours a day. Many people achieve efficient results
with this and that's without 24 hour wear, so I'm now trying to
wear it overnight and for a few hours throughout the day to
speed up the process.
Still hoping to have ALF in the near future but with also be
wearing a removable palate expander for the time being so I can
start facepulling.

You're welcome, MJON. I'm starting with my removable palate
expander and facepulling/NCR pretty soon.
I'll keep you guys updated and I'll see how many turns works
with me. Interesting how you're turning the screws very slowly.
Honestly, I'll probably be doing the same thing: I know I'll be
expanding pretty slowly.
Keep us updated with the results 8) !
