face pulling CREATED tmj, help!

I was a bit impulsive a few months ago. I started face pulling
with my thumbs. About 25 minutes a day. I did this for three
months and realized I needed to stop. There came to a point
where I realized my face was thinning out too much and figured I
probably needed expansion before I go on face-pulling. I also
realized my jaw started to make noises when moved, and was
definitely in a worse position than before. I have a cross-bite.
Is this the reason why this may have happened? Should I have had
expansion done in conjunction?
If anyone has any ideas, please share, as I am pretty ignorant
when it comes to this stuff.

I am not sure why that happened .. and frankly I am very
regretful that I posted so much in this forum in the past.
I was not in my sound, reasonable mind at that time, but am now
taking anti-psychotic drugs that help to make me reasonable
again.
I think you do not need to be afraid, though. Once, my teeth
were aligned in such a way where I heard and felt my jaws click
when I opened my mouth. It was not exactly painful as I recall,
but it did bother me. That was when I was a boy. As I recall, my
parents took me to see the dentist, who helped to resolve the
issue.
I hope you get help by the dentist. They are there to assist and
help with their knowledge of the body - and contrary to beliefs
here on the Internet, there being a "Big Pharma" industry which
is greedy, does not detract from the fact that doctors and
dentists go through much schooling to earn a better
knowledge/understanding of the human body than the rest of us
possess.
