Re: THE GIVER: FINAL QUESTIONS

-I think it is because when the Giver gave to Jonas the memories
of the world, he experimented new feelings. It means, he learnt
by his own to feel new thinks, which couldn´t be forgoten
because they became in part of him.
-I would like to know anyelse about the final of the story as
What will happen with The Giver? Will the memories be shared to
the comunity? What about the Jona's family? Nevertheless, I
think that the Open ending used by the autor is apropiated to
cause intrigue in the readers and permit them create an own
final.

The reason might be that Jones when you get the feeling memories
together, not only remain in your mind, but in his heart, where
it is difficult to forget. Therefore, when they give their
memories to Gabriel. Jones never forgets the feeling with family
and friends.
Yes, that open end leaves you with a lot of questions such as.
what happened with Jonas and Gabriel?, Do the Jonas community
insinuates his memories? and if it indeed found a world such as
ours. This is because that is clearly one of the entire
collection of books of Lowry and is a great technique to keep
the reader with the drama. ??? :-\

Chapter 11
• Can you imagine giving up such things as snow and hills
because they are impractical?
Yes, I do. The reasons that were mentioned in the book, as the
damage on the crops and geographical difficulties are enough to
see that each citizen would take an advantage of it avoiding
starvation, accidents and illnesses, even winter slides.
Moreover that isn’t useful to any important issue when the
science could prevent the animals and nature for other changes.
Chapter 12
• Imagine a world without color. What color would you miss most?
I would miss most the green color, because is very beautiful, it
transmit to you a feeling of relax when you are at the grass or
only seeing the trees, it’s balanced between red and violet, a
mixture of colors, I think it’s the wonderful one.
• What value, if any, is there to Sameness?
The most important is that the people is one-hundred percent
sure of the balanced life that they will have, without the lack
of important resources as education or food or a comfortable
dwell, paying with the lack of some wonderful world’s features
and interesting issues.
Chapter 13
• Do you agree with Jonas that people have to be protected from
wrong choices?
Yeah, sure, it avoids the stress and pain, it helps you to
contribute to the other problems that the society could have,
working at what you do the best.

How do you think the story ends? Would you like to see the
ending more spelled out? Why or why not?
I think that the story should ends with a comfortable prize for
Jonas after all his track, in a positive way, because he deserve
to experiment how the shocking and wonderful would be the real
life for him, and who knows, maybe he would get a real family
who loves him as he imagine.
Yes I would like to see a clear ending, because, in my opinion
the writer had left a possibility of a tragic ending for the
both: Jonas and Gabe, because it would be wry to see an
uncompleted mission of someone who encouraged a lot of
difficulties, it wouldn’t be fair for a hero like him and for a
reader with positive attitude.

-I think that this happens because as Jonas is a human, he has
this capcity to feel although he can't remeber those situation.
That is to say, when The Giver transmit to Jonas the world's
memories, Jonas had that relive these memories :D And after
that, he start to meet and experiment different feelings and
these began to belong him. For that reason, Jonas can't forget
the feeling, because he carries within itself. :)
-Well, I think that the story ends when Jonas and Gabriel are
free and start a new life. ;D Where they can began to discover
more feeling and the nature, i.e. things that they had been
deprived.
But, personally, I would like have more detail about the ending.
Because the way of how finish the book c vc is not clear,
the author use that technique to that readers can imagine the
denouement. But I have many questions and doubts about Jonas,
Gabriel, the friends and parents of Jonas. And how community
could face their problem? If The Giver could help to community
really or if some tragedy happen? Those questions can make a
clear idea about how ending the book: The Giver ;)

😒I think the feelings don't left Jhonas together with
the memories, because the feelings arise in a person depending
of his interpretation of memories, because for example in Jhonas
were feeling of love and compassion by the live of the humans of
the community, but in other people a same memory could arise
feeling of hate. That is why I think that the the feeling don't
depend of the memories, if not depend of the interpretation of
the person.
😒On the other hand, I think the story ends when Jhonas
manages to cross the border of the community and the people take
the memories and are in a situation when each of the
experimented different feelings. I would not like see the ending
more spelled out, because when the book ended, I could pose
many endings for the story of Lowry.

I think in the end the jonas's memory come back because their
feelings are so strong that jonas will build the memories he had
lost. And finally he arrive the village where everybody is like
him and would grow together with his brother.
The end is god, in my opinion the author wants readers to
imagine the ending, and that characteristic makes this book the
best.

IN THIS CASE IT IS POSSIBLE TO SAY THAT: A PERSON CAN LIVE OF
HIS RECOLLECTIONS, HOWEVER THE FEELINGS ALWAYS WERE STAYING.
THOUGH BOTH THE FEELINGS AND THE RECOLLECTIONS CAN BE FORGOTTEN
OR REPLACED AS THE TIME HAPPENS AND NEW EXPERIENCES ARE LIVED.
:)
THE HISTORY ENDS IN AN OPENED END, WHO BELIEVES DOUBTS IN THE
READERS. FINALLY I WOULD BE CHARMED WITH BEING ABLE TO READ A
CLOSED END, TO BE ABLE LIKE THAT TO BE ABLE OR GIVE RESPONSE TO
SOME QUESTIONS ME. :o ;D

It sounds funny but in a ANIME ;D :D I heard that, "The mind
forgets, but the body remembers." 8) In my view, this also
applies in the book. Although the memories are transmitted from
person to person, I think Jonah himself developed his feelings
and emotions. transmitted memories were only minor evidence of
what a human being could feel. So in short, Jonas did not need
memories to know what being a human truth. :)
I would like to say how the story would end up revealing my
homework jeje :P ;D but still ... I did not really expect any
end in particular, I like the way it ended: open and free to
anyone's imagination. If I had finished concise form, it would
have been like a simple story. Instead, this way it resembles
more a real story ... good is my opinion. :D :D :D ;)

Well, when the Giver gave him the memories, He starts to feel
new emotions about that. After this experience, he experiment
new feelings and maybe He starts to ask about this reality.
That's why he doesn't forget his feeling, because he learned
thank the Giver and the memories.
I don't would like to read more although the story ends with an
open ending, because I can imagine a new end, maybe sad or fun
for Jonas and Gabriel. Also is a good sign of a new book, the
second part of the Giver, maybe.
After all, that is a good book with an unrealistic theme. :)
