By: Mayorcitobookworm Date: February 21, 2016, 1:32 pm
---------------------------------------------------------
We continue to unveil The Giver's world and see
the way society works there. As you read chapters 11 to 13, make
notes about the following questions and answer them.
Chapter 11
• Can you imagine giving up such things as snow and hills
because they are impractical?
Chapter 12
• Imagine a world without color. What color would you miss most?
• What value, if any, is there to Sameness?
Chapter 13
• Do you agree with Jonas that people have to be protected from
wrong choices?

Chapter 11:
_ The snow and the hills are things that are not important for
the society and its structure, but, they are something that many
humans needs to experience feelings that made them happy,
something that improve their mind to have good decision, a way
to opt the good remembers and a strategies to get away the
badness. I think that they are things that the human needs
sometimes.
Chapter 12:
_ I think that the color that i missed more could be the blue,
as the sky), because, it is a color that i always see everyday.
I don't know what can i doing if that colors could never exist
in this life. They are very commons in the reality.
Chapter 13:
_ I agree, because no one can save himself to the wrongs. The
human was made for mistake.

-Cap. 11-
No way. Every memory is important, whether good or bad, memories
mold your identity. If you forget such things as the community
of Jonas, life would be meaningless because it would not know
anything about her.
;D
-Cap. 12-
A world without color is a cold and distant world. The colors
express feelings and even there is a psychology of color.
According to the Council of Elders, equality is a fundamental
principle for coexistence in the world. Which it is not false,
but it must be taken very seriously the alleged "equality." If
the world devoid of color, I miss a lot my favorite colors:
black and purple :D :-* :P . But leaving aside my tastes, I
very much miss the red and its derivatives; as I as in the case
of John, surprised to see the color of faces of my parents or
the color of your lips form a smile. It would be sad to forget
the colors.
P.S. SORRY, THE SECOND QUESTION I DON´T UNDERSTAND. ??? ???
-Cap. 13-
No. "To err is human", a certain phrase. Man is not perfect and
in every moment of our lives we face problems and obstacles that
solutions have to make decisions. I think that no matter what
decision we make: whether good or bad, not always going to do
the right thing. If we think carefully, if we choose the right
option, it will be 100% correct, that is, you will have its pros
and cons. In "The Giver of Memories", all decisions are made by
a council, but who says you that the decisions made by the
Council are right? Someone once said, "Nothing ventured, nothing
gained; which is wrong, he learns; and who decides for himself,
wins "... In short, I do not agree with Jonas society, decisions
form the course of life and man from birth is free and
independent ... free to decide... :D ;)

Cap. 11 - Really the snow and hills are impractical, but these
include feelings that are very important for the society to know
freedom and happiness... Also these things help to support the
stability of the society, such as when the aged need a advice to
do something the giver can use the memory of the snow and hills
to help them.
Cap.12- The color that I missed more could be the red, such as
the meat and blood ... I think that the red is a important color
that is relate to the majority of the things and the human, for
example the blood and our organism. Finally, all the colors are
part of our daily life to know something.
Cap. 13- I agree in some parts with Jonas society, because the
humans need have a great choice to support their life such as a
beatiful family, a good job and something else... but, is
possible that the human need choice their options because we
have to find the happiness in the things, such as a wife, a
house, a good sons and other things.

Cap 11:
-I think that the snow and hills are things
that come to be matter or no depending of the context of each
one, and experience or the sentimental value of both. These
things come to be impractical, like others, perhaps his
character to go unnoticed and so common in our life, it is
correct that all memories are important, but if that society had
never known it, They would have no problem to live without
them.
Cap 12:
-I think that really really would missed so
much the color red, personally my favorite color is blue, but I
can not imagine a world without the warmth that is associated
with the bright colors like this one, that represent love,
sweetie, and other emotions that give meaning to our human life.
-In that question , I do not understand perfectly the role of
the word "equality", but I sense that I can not answer anything
with certainty. Nevertheless, i'll answer it like I understood,
well, think that the value that is so common and equal for all,
is the honesty and respect.
Cap13:
-No, but no in all the aspects, I agree in
those cases where it would commit a blunder that may compromise
the safety of life and the beautiful things in it. In other
hand, the majority of great things that the humanity has created
are product of errors so undoubtedlyand this makes a being in
human. ;D ;D ;D

Chapter 11
I think that all things are important when formed part of our
memory, even small things, such as snow and hill. If these
memories can not alter the societ, can continue stable.
Chapter 12
The green, because is the color of nature, fertility, life.
Grass is green the most restful color. Green Symbolizes
self-respect and well being. Green is the Color of balance. It
Also Means learning, growth and harmony. The absence of color is
an impossible concept to imagine for me, even if I try it with
all my Might. Color is always on something, but we Often take it
for granted and miss wonders STI.
CHAPTER 13
I disagree, because people must learn from their mistakes, so
that in the future not committed again.

.Chapter 11.- Maybe snow and hills are impractical, but for some
people this things represent life's memories on family full of
happiness and feelings; and giving up to these things is very
difficult because is a part of their lifes.
.Chapter 12.- A world without colors is a world without
feelings. Colors are important to the memory because is a way of
remember things. I will miss the green color, because is a
nature color. We can see this color everywhere.
. Chapter 13.- I disagree, because wrong choices make people
more stronger about their good choices. If the first time we
have a mistake, next time we improve this mistake all things
will be more constructive.

Chapter 11,
I can't imagine that because I was born between mountains and
this are part of my life, also the snow are part of our world,
certain ecosystems, therefore I don't think that the mountains
and the snow are impractical, because they forma parte of our
life and our nature.
Chapter 12,
Well I can't imagine a world without color, because is the
essence of the world and is a form to recognize each thing and
see their difference. Also the color that I miss most would the
green, because is the color of the campo and the trees. On the
other hand the last question I don't understand, however I think
that different colors are not a form of inequality, if more
colors is not a way to differentiate ourselves from the animals,
also through the colors we see the world around us, so do not
think removing color is a form of equality but rather to
restrict something as wonderful as this.
Chapter 13,
No, I disagree, because the wrong choices are part of our life,
this shows you what life is really, ie teaches us to live as if
there were no bad choices people do not learn and not have the
ability to make decisions, special quality of being human, and
that's what it means true freedom. :)

CHAPTER 11:
Yes, because where I live do not exist the snow but if the hills
and I consider him unnecessary because due to the existence of
this things cause bad moments like accidents of transit (near to
my house). it is due to do roads in the hills is hard due to
geography and for this reason the roads has become in a danger
for the people.
as regards the snow, it is beautiful but it can produce
respiratory diseases at the children and other members of
families. As the book says is a risk due to there could have
food shortage and other situations. I would have no problem to
live without them because of the same way that my parents and
other members of my context.
CHAPTER 12:
I think that the color that I missed more will be the yellow,
although my favorite color is the purple, because it represent
for me the warmth and the love. when I saw the question
inmediately I thought in an a person near to a wood fire seeing
and then near to other people. I think that the yellow like the
wood fire brings people and for this reason my color will be
the yellow.
I think that the value for the Sameness is for to mantain the
respect to other persons. In our society many people are victims
of the discrimination. However, in the society of Jonas do not
exist discrimination. I believe that it is product of that do
not exist color. No color the people can not see the colors of
skin of other people and then do not exist the discrimation like
in our society. For this, I believe that the color plays a
important role in the Jonas´ society due to without the colors
no one can discriminate against others
CHAPTER 13:
Sometimes I believe that I am agree with the position of Jonas
because thare are things or situations in which I do not like
decide but I have to do. But in others I will like take my owm
decicions. For that, I think that no in all the aspects is good
that other decide for you but in other no.

Chapter 11:
-No, :-\ because those things are part of the nature and is not
fair that we deprive that right. Although snow and hills are
impractical for Jona's community that does not mean that they
are apart from the members of the community. Because I think
that as they are humans, they have the right to know about the
nature and enjoy it. :D
Chapter 12:
-I could miss most the color green, because we can see this color
in the nature, for example in the grass or in the leaves of the
trees. 8) But, we know that colors are very important in our
environment, color give life to the landscapes and transmit us
feeling.
-Well, one positive aspect can be education, because children
learn all at the same pace. And they don't have problems in
their learning. :)
Chapter 13:
-Partially I agree, because Jona's community fight against the
next problems that nowadays affect us, for example: global
warming, natural disastes, violence, etc. :P However, sometimes
we need learn from our own expericences, our own mistakes and
our wrong decisions. So,in this way we can create our own
conclusions about a new learning. ;)
