CHAPTER 6-8: THE NEW RECEIVER

[font=verdana]When we finish Chapter 8, Jonas is confused about
his future as the new Receiver of Memory. He feels fear because
he will have to endure physical pain and will be alienated from
his friends and family, but he feels pride because the members
of the community are in awe of him — and he hasn't done anything
yet. He has only been selected. Why was Jonas the chosen one?.
How would you feel IF YOU WERE the new receiver?[/font]

I think that Jonas was the chosen one for the reason that the
old chief explained, that Jonas has all of the qualities that
one Receiver must to have (As the wisdom, no have dreams of
uncertainty, etc). In my opinion, Jonas was selected because he
is a child different to the rest: He usually no talk in his
family ritual, he often tell his dreams, he suppose many things
about the rules, assignments and the releases of the community,
and as the old chief said, Jonas has a way to see the things
most away, to what i think that it means see the structure and
form of one thing most away to that is (non conformance with
only the physical part, also the things that it can to do and
for what reason has to been created. Jonas is a child that
anyone have to seen before.
If I was Jonas in the ceremony, in simple words, i only had died
of nervousness ;D, because those things are very confused for
one person. Who have not been felt confused and nervous if you
was selected by someone and you dont know what is that
assignment or the things that it made?

First when Jonas was elected for the Chief Elder in the ceremony
she released all the qualities he has such as: intelligence that
he had shown all these years and courage that was necessary to
be receptor, because the pain would be stronger. Elders also
chose Jonas because they had not submitted dreams that bring
uncertainties in the decision. :o
On the other hand, if the elders choose me as the receiver i
will feel the same emotion of Jonas that is fear, also i will
feel very nervous because is a rare role and require a great
responsibility. Additionally i will feel confused because i
don't know how make this role and the worst that'll be alone y
sin compartir mi experiencia :'( :(. However also i will feel
enthusiastic, because is a new experience, different and unique
:D ;) :)

Jonas was selected because he was observed and the Committee
considered that he had some characteristic to be the next
Receiver. And the Chief Elder mentioned these: "Intelligence",
"Integrity","Courage"(although Jonas is going to have this
requirement when he is going to be prepared at the same time
that "Wisdom")But the last quality, the current Receiver calls
so, is the Capacity to See Beyond. I consider that this capacity
did special and unique to Jonas because bobody in his group had
that and nobody in the Community.
However, Jonas knew about that when he remembers his experience
with the apple:“Jonas had noticed,…that the apple had changed.
Just for an instant. It had changed in mid-air…” I think that
this capacity in special did that Jonas was selected(of course
apart of the rest qualities)
Well, in that situation probably in first place I was feel like
jonas: confused :o because I don't know what is a Receiver
exactly? or what is about this assignment? ??? And in second
place a little afflicted :-\ because this success is going to
change my life and separate me of my friends, and my family too.
Finally, I would feel a little worried :P because this
assignment is going to be hard and includes pain.
But I suppose that with the time one can get used :D and learn
more things. ;)

From the beginning I had feeling that Jonas was special,
different from the others (I think I feel the same thing with
Gabriel; D). Because he not identified exactly what they liked
to do, so I did not know what mission they would give him. It
was not like other children who could be identified with any
mission, it is not identified with any mission. I also knew it
had some special talent when he could see something in the Apple
(something that only he could see). I think that Jonah is
perfect to be the new receiver of memories and that it will
gradually develop their skills and will do great things. I would
personally, I feel very special but at the same time with much
cho fear, since I don't know what I'm going to confront, above
all for the pain that I have to endure
On the other hand, I have a great curiosity:
Where to send people who were Released? That place is exactly
Outside (sometimes I think that kill them ???)

Jonas was chosen one because he has all the abilities for be a
good receptor of memories like: intelligence, courage, among
others. One representation of this abilities is when Jonas see
the apple in a different way while is playing with Asher. He
Already had the ability of seeing colours.
If I was the new receiver I was so nervous because the memories
of every times of the community it'll be in my hands and my duty
to take care. and also excited because the people trust in me
and I could discover new emotions. ;D ;D

I think that Jonas was chosen because he is a different member
of the community and has four formalities or skills to be a good
receiver of memory, such as: courage, intelligence, integrity,
and other one that was difficult to explain so old woman call
see more. Jonas has all of this skills but he doesn't know the
mean of each word and he consider that "see more" mean each
strange change that he see in some situacions, for example: the
apple when he was played with Asher and the face of the people
on the ceremony.
If I was chosen to be the new receiver of memory, I felt
fear,enthusiasm and confusion at the same time, because I don't
know what job do the receiver of memory and why I can't play
with my friends.

Jonas was the chosen one because, as the Chief Elder said, he
meets the requirements or qualities for being the new receiver
of memory: intelligence, integrity and courage. Also, he will
acquired wisdom through his training. In other words, he was
selected because he is different in a good way. He can see
beyond what others see, do and learn. He is special.
If I would had been selected as the new receiver of memory, I
would feel so nervous and confused, because this job implicates
to see a different reality from what I am accustomed to and I
wouldn't know what kind of activities I will do or how will be
my training. But also I would feel pride because it means that I
have special qualities, and that is a great honor. ;D

I think Jonas was chosen because it meets the requirements and
has the qualities of a receiver of memory like courage,
intelligence, integrity and a very curious skill called the "see
beyond". Therefore Jonas was not an ordinary society member but
was someone special with different skills.
If I had been selected as the new receiver of memory , I would
have been nervous since this meant many things like away from my
friends and withstand physical pain. On the other hand, I would
have been excited, as this would mean that I have special
skills. In addition the fact of knowing new things and emotions
motivated to want to be the receiver of memory. :)

A Jonas he was elected because he had the qualities to be a
receiver, the main one being that I could see more, more than
any other could. Jonas was not like the others, he was special
and he knew it. That's why it was chosen to be different. 8) 8)

In my case, if I were to choose as receiver memories I feel very
happy because being different is not bad at all. On the
contrary, it would be a pride and do it for myself, because
would discover new things. Although I say that it is difficult
or painful, I would take the risk ... because I am a girl who is
fascinated by the challenges! :P ;D :D ;)
