‘No animal shall drink alcohol to excess." i think that this
phrase is the most ironic because of the pigs are saying it,
why? because the pigs do whatever they want.

I think the irony comes in "Squealer, temporarily stunned, was
very close, very convenient and had a flashlight, a brush and a
jar of white paint dump." since squaler often changed the rules
then this phrase gives us to understand that, another phrase
which is ironic is "The dogs immediately made a ring round
Squealer, and escorted him back to the house as soon as he was
able to walk "as this happens when you change the rule that you
can not take but too

from my point of view the phrase "No animal shall drink alcohol
TO EXCESS” is ironic, because it shows how the pigs changing the
commandments to their benefit and to justify their recklessness.
Here is evident the authority abuse and the government
absolutist. :P

In my opinion, it shows Napoleon in this chapter take more
drastic control measures farm. You may also notice that the pig
is having more approach to humans. For example, in a part of the
work he says the camp was exhausted and needs to sow barley,
only to control their habit. One of the most ironic sentences
regarding this change is when he mentions "No animal shall
alcoholic drink to excess," it is because Napoleon could not
control his addiction, although it is known that men took
Alcohol, and now raises this excuse just to drink Whiskey.

I think that in the two last paragraphs of the chapter, there
are two ironic phrases:
1. "Squaler, temporarily stunned, was sprawling beside it": it
means that Squaler was drunk, for that reason he couldn't stand
up and the dogs had to help him.
2. "“No animal shall drink alcohol,” but there were two words
that they had forgotten.": The animals hadn´t forgotten the
Fifth Commandment. It was Squealer who added two words to
justify his new vice, modifying the commandment as “No animal
shall drink alcohol TO EXCESS.”

From my poitn of view, the ironic phrase in this chapter is the
following: "Squealer, temporarily stunned, was sprawling beside
it, and near at hand there lay a lantern, a paintbrush and an
overturned pot of white paint". Why? The answer is because he
tried to change the "7 rules of the animals" for the benefit of
the porks. The way that Orwell use is very ironic because he
describes how was Squealer after his fall. :D :o

I think the two most ironic phrases are "No animal shall drink
alcohol to excess" and "Squealer, temporarily stunned, lay on
the ground nearby were a flashlight, a brush and a jar of paint"
First, because we noticed that changed the commandment pigs,
adding two words, so the animals could not complain, because
pigs do not inflicted the new commandment. It is ironic that the
same pigs said that alcohol was only to humans.
And, in my opinion, the second fact is transcendental, because
that way is clear evidence that pigs changed every precept to
fit their convenience. It's totally ironic because this goes
against every democracy. All the promises of a rebellion for the
sake of the animals go to the trash, since they were lies to
finally pigs have power over all

I think the ironic phrase is one of the new commandment : "No
animal shall drink alcohol TO EXCESS". Originally was "No animal
shall drink alcohol". That occurred because now the pigs drink
alcohol and with that commandment "justify" their action to
break the original commandment. :-\

“No Animal Shall drink to excess alcohol”. This phrase is
showing how little by little the animals forget the aim of their
rebellion, and pigs abuse his power giving them a great life.

I think, that one of the phrases is: "Squealer, temporarily
stunned, was sprawling beside it, and near at hand there lay a
lantern, a paintbrush and an overturned pot of white paint",
because it represent in a burlesque way the innocence of the
population and how the lieder take advantage of that. The second
phrase is: "No animal shall drink alcohol to excess” as Squealer
changes the fifth commandment of the laws from the Farm
according to the interesting from the pigs, that was saw in
before chapters, and “to excess” means the form that they use
their power.
