Napoleon blind the eyes of animals. Napoleon becomes a whole
dictator. Napoleon commissioned the production of barley This
only goes to consumption of pigs. In addition to the ironic
phrase it is " No animal shall drink alcohol to excess " These
are typical characteristics of the time based on privatization
and the little work of the aristocracy.

I consider that the phrase “No animal shall drink alcohol TO
EXCESS.” Is ironic, because sample that the pigs in specific
Napoleon abuse their power of govern, and It allows knowing that
had a government absolutist. Also present that pigs change the
Commandments to not be harmed by their actions and that the
pigs(Napoleón) continue having the acceptance other
       animals. :-\ :o

I think that in this chapter there two phrases ironic. The first
phrase is: "Squealer, temporarily stunned", not only for the
drop, if not that before he with Napoleon had drunk alcohol,
because the pigs came upon a case of whisky in the cellars of
the farmhouse, razon for that Squealer was change one of the
Seven Commandments. The second phrase ironic is: "No animal
shall drink alcohol, to excess", because this Fifth Commandment
that was change for Squealer made to cover the actions of these
pigs and the excess that committed with the power that had
       during the Russian Revolution.

For my, one ironic phrase is “No animal shall drink alcohol TO
EXCESS.” Because this phrase is written in the two last words
with capital letters, highlighting the ironic tone that the
author tries to express this. For in the first place, the
alcohol was allowed only for men, but now with this new
commandment, all the animals, especially Napoleon, if you can
drink alcohol, but not in excess. jajajaja :P

Well, I think that the first phrase is: "Squealer, temporarily
stunned, was sprawling beside it, and near at hand there lay a
lantern, a paintbrush and an overturned pot of white paint."
because the animals can suspect a little of the real situation
in "Animal Farm". Also, Napoleon from the beginning, was doing
changes when got the power and with the help of Squealer, caused
to the animals more tranquility. And the second phrase in my
opinion: "...but there were two words that they had forgotten.
Actually the Commandment read: No animal shall drink alcohol to
excess." Squealer changeed the commandment for the benefit of
Napoleon. We have to consider that Orwell relationed his history
       with Stallin's age.

The first one is " No animal will drink alcohol in excess ", the
phrase is changed, Napoleon and other porks are useful to do
what they want and to manipulate to other animals to leave them
without option of claim. The second phrase is " Squearle,
temporarily bewildered ", since since we know, the latter was
trying to change one of the phrases of " Seven orders " to the
animals they believe in otherwise :) :) :)

According to my point of view the phrase “No animal shall drink
alcohol TO EXCESS.” is an ironic phrase since this command
allows animals to drink but not "to excess", with that it seeks
to justify the actions of Napoleon also because this sentence is
written in capital letters, trying to show that in a few cases
this rule wont be fulfilled by pigs... :-[ ??? ??? 8)

In this chapter, you can see how Napoleon, with the aim of
increasing its power and authoritarianism to the farm animals,
using different methods. Napoleon is more related to humans,
making he assume the vices of the humans, causing some changes
in the rules of the farm, the first sentence I found ironic is
change the rule "No animal shall drink alcohol" to "No animal
shall drink alcohol excess". This change can be when Squealer,
mandated by Napoleon changed a rule to their advantage, taking
advantage of the ignorance of other animals, this part is an
irony to the form of government of Stalin, who taking advantage
of the naivety of his followers changed its form of government
for his own benefit. Another phrase that supports the above idea
is "No animal shall kill another without cause" this phrase
supports this idea, because ironically, Orwell shows how
Napoleon (Stalin) takes advantage of the naivety of the others
to meet its objectives and benefit only him.

The irony is visible in the following sentence: "Squealer,
temporarily stunned, lay next door, very handy and had a
flashlight, a brush and a jar of white paint dump.", where he
teaches the growing power of Napoleon by changing several rules
prescribed before the revolution; also this: "No animal shall
drink alcohol, but ignored two words [...].." excess "," this
being a radical change to the original thought and a blinding
animals to reality. A clear comparison with the events of World
       War II.

First “Squealer, temporarily stunned, lay on the ground nearby
were a flashlight, a brush and a jar of paint”, This phrase is
ironic because it creates a play on words where reference is
made to a painful fall in his treaty, also highlights the
innocence of the animals with the lack of loyalty of themselves.
Secont, "No animal shall drink alcohol to excess" It is ironic
because in this same game of words integrates as add some words
changes to original commandment to modify it. And its clear
       relationship between animals and humans.
