       Chord Inversions Pt. 1

       A great way to add variety to your guitar playing is by using
       Inversions to create different textures and sounds.  A chord
       inversion contains all of the same notes of the given chord
       (i.e. D = D-F#-A), but may have a note in the bass (on the
       bottom) other than the root.  The most commonly used inversion
       is called first inversion.  A chord in first inversion has the
       3rd of the chord in the bass.  D in first inversion is written
       as so: D/F# (F#-D-A).  It's still a D chord, but the notes are
       in a different order.
       Here are some common chords in first inversion:
       C/E: E-C-G
       D/F#: F#-D-A
       G/B: B-G-D
       F/A: A-F-C
       A/C#: C#-A-E
       B/D#: D#-B-F#
