Maybe we could do Amityvale before starting the Orbs?

Book 1 Amityvale seems like a good idea. I think the Saving
Lymcrest questchain could also go somewhere in early game -
maybe not before Wind Orb, but shortly after? Sir Ano could also
fit in, as well as Miss Fixit's Letter. I assume the Tomix and
Dragonsgrasp sagas will be later in Book 1.

I'm baaaack! And all caught up (at least with the warrior
character). Sorry for missing the discussions, here are thoughts
       of the past few sessions!
Week 3: What "mini-quest" of the journey to Falconreach is your
       favorite?
I loved meeting Zorbak and fighting the bear. Honestly, my
VERY FIRST TIME at the quest I went through as soon as I could,
so way under-leveled. I was terrified at having to fight that
bear. This time it went a bit better :P
Also, I forgot how much I loved how we first met Robina. Sneevil
       trapping for the win!
       Week 4:
I didn't have a good element for those robot things, so I was
wrestling my way through with the NSoD. It loved to keep hitting
5 instead of 37. And then activated the special when the thing
had 2 hitpoints left. Siiiiigh. Also, doors of doom. Those
       things always take me forever.
It is nice, though, to actually get the QuadForce reference
while playing it (I hadn't heard of LoZ when I started DF).
       Week 5:
I forgot how much of a derp our hero was at the beginning. I
really hope they enjoyed that giant egg xD
Next: Amyitvale sounds good, what I would do would be to
alternate "Orb Quests" and "side quests". So one side quest
could be Lymcrest, another could be the pirate/ninja petshop
things, Sir Ano, Arya's pet quests, etc.

Remember that at the end of the Amytivale Saga, we meet the
Purple Necromantess, which means it comes after the "Save
       Moonridge" War.
And at least part of the Tomix Saga should be played in between
"Noxus Fumes" and "Memory Demons", as Tomix is a part of the
last two quests of the Darkness Orb Saga. Speaking of Tomix,
this might be hard, but maybe we should start Ravenloss during
Mogloween, since Tomix and Greed were introduced during a
Mogloween event (can't remember which year it was, though).

Let us see... when I joined the forums, that was Zardbies PT2,
which was also last year... so it might have been 2009, at the
very least. Tomix also appeared during the end of the Fire orb
saga as well... where he acted like we never met him before. So
it might actually be best to start that saga right after the
       Fire Orb Saga too.

Also, I've noticed that we still haven't played "The
Rescue"/"Critter Cave", which is the quest (given either by Ash
or Grams) were we first meet Aria. We should also play through
the "Spirits in the Inn" at some point, methinks.

Are we going to do the Irismancer's War? It's in the Sepulchure
       line in the BoL.

And... we're a day late again. :-\ Quest assignment for Week 6
       is here
  HTML http://boh.createaforum.com/rediscovering-df/play-through-quest-assignments-rediscover-df/msg9446/#msg9446.
I did intend to do Aria's rescue earlier, but that's what I get
for making these up at 3 in the morning. So it's this week! And
I was waiting for everyone to hit level 10 before assigning Sir
Ano, but Star being behind threw me off.
Another note, I will not be officially assigning pet quests.
Because we have hatched our baby dragons (with all of their
cuteness),I'm not feeling the need to assign them. But if you
wish to go and do them for completeness' sake, go ahead.

Well, I've only just managed to catch up with the last two
assignments. These early-game quests are fun - but I must say,
while I'm playing them I'm always imagining them with the most
recent art / animation and then going, "Well DF has come a long
way art and animation-wise!" I also took the time to train the
first few skills of DL before the Old Man went "not high level
enough!". And I tried to train DragonRider, but Togzilla being
level 30 unscaled... it's nearly impossible to beat with a level
~10 character. I alwaaaaaaays miss. xD
If I could make one suggestion: adding Undead Assault (War
Memorial) as soon as we get to Falconreach (week 3), moving War
at See (War Memorial) to week 4, adding Wrath of Xan (War
Memorial) to week 4 or 5, then adding Arachnattack! (War
Memorial) to week 5 just between "The Secret Cave" and "The
Hatching". These wars all take place during the Dragon Egg Saga.
A unofficial question of general interest: now that the
beginning questchains (Dragon Egg Saga, Oaklore Quests,
Quadforce, etc.) are done, what Book 1 storyline do you look
forward to the most? For me, it has to be Tomix Saga... or Water
       Orb Saga.

I'm most looking forward to Light Saga, Azan. Zhoom's awesome.
Also, we should do the Celestia/Elysia quests that are non-DL at
       some point, too ^^
Oh, Sir Ano. It feels a lot sillier having my level 10 hero
train you, rather than the level 70-ish. But the puns in all of
them are pretty hilarious. (I will forever consider the Wizard
of Oz quest weird, though). I did have a clever idea about the
quests. Ano's a level 3 guest, right? Since we're training him,
wouldn't it have been neat if each quest he went up a level?
This would put him at 6 or 7 by the end.
Also, I forgot how flipping annoying pactagonal-tastic is xD
Having never really played a text based adventure game, I can
never remember how I did it the previous time and always die to
at least 2 of the ghosts. And still can't remember how I moved
       that boulder xD
