Movie Night Marathon
By: Starflame Date: October 13, 2013, 8:52 pm

Hello everyone!
We had the idea of starting a movie night , where every so often
we all got together at the same time and watch a movie together
through Skype, or even just through Chatzy. It could be
something where each month, people could post movie suggestions
for maybe the first two weeks, the third week we'd vote, and the
fourth week we'd find a time to watch the movie. So... thoughts
on the process? And suggestions for movies?
I don't know what the offcial limit for rating is going to be on
movie suggestions, so use common sense. Obviously, no R
ratings, but I think some PG13's should be ok? Correct me if we
need to stick with PG only, though.
List of Watched Movies:
The Secret of Kells
The Princess Bride
The Road to El Dorado
Princess Mononoke
Hook
Lord of the Rings: Fellowship of the Ring
The Emperor's New Groove
How to Train your Dragon
Howl's Moving Castle
How to Train your Dragon: 2
Avatar: The Last Airbender
Big Hero 6
Hotel Transylvania

It may not be the most appropriate movie series and it therefore
may not have a rating below PG-13 or even R, but due to its
connections to Artix Entertainment (Including the origin of
Ash's name), I think we can let it slide. :)
The Evil Dead
The Evil Dead 2
Army of Darkness
The first movie is horror, the second movie is a parody of the
first, and the third is a full blown comedy (With hints of
horror) that is responsible for more of Duke Nukem's one-liners
than is tasteful. xD
@Star: I see no problem with PG-13! I would even go so far as to
say that we are mature enough to handle films of higher ratings,
but I would not expect to see many of those. Then again, it is
October and we need to watch horror- HGNMJEWnd[inf I have
another suggestion for October! :D
Nightmare Before Christmas!

I like the sound of that idea! I don't know many movies
though... but I'll think of something as we go. :)

Great idea!
re: Evil Dead/horror movies: Am I the only one amused by the
fact that some sources of quite a few jokes and beloved
references/nods/parodies in their games can't even be easily
discussed in the AE forums? :P
I think we're all responsible enough handle appropriateness on a
case-by-case basis, explaining the reasons for the rating, so
everyone can decide whether they're comfortable with watching or
not.
Ooh, Nightmare Before Christmas? For some reason I've never
watched it before, but I'd really like to.
If anyone hasn't seen it yet, The Road to El Dorado never fails
to get me into a good mood, so that'd be my first suggestion.

The Road to El Dorado goes without saying. A god among
armadillos is a character in that!
@Ruka: That's alright, Ruka. Just sit back and enjoy the
suggestions. :D

I'm going to have to agree with The Road to El Dorado. It's one
of my favorite animated movies of all time ^^

I mentioned this myself, but one movie I would drag everyone to
come and see is The Secret of Kells. Simply flipping fantastic.
One thing is, it is a particular movie where the quality of the
video is important. An important part of the movie is the art
involved. I have looked around and the free ones available do
not tend to be the best, especially if you want to watch it full
screen, and the better quality ones tend to be interrupted with
ads. Most frustrating since it is not a movie I like to watch
with interruptions either.
On the flip side, I am not very knowledgeable as to where to
look to find good quality movies for us to watch. If anyone
knows good places, I will look there. I may keep searching in my
spare time as well anyway,

The poll for the first movie night is live! It'll stay open for
10 days.

Honestly I'm having toruble picking between anything. They all
