A quick poll for all of y'all. What do y'all think will be the
most enjoyable aspect of a game of DnD (or for those that have
played, what was the most enjoyable for you): combat or the
       story?
And a couple of things that y'all should know before anything
       game-wise happens:
I do not plan on this being a long-running thing. I plan on
doing a one-shot to let the people who haven't played before get
a feel for the game, and for everyone to see if they like my
gaming style. If everyone likes everything as it is, then maybe
we can turn the one-shot into a long-running campaign (the game
I play on Tuesday started like that, and it's my favorite of the
       two DnD games I play).
I'm a fast talker. So when I'm reading something, or saying
something, if y'all can't understand me, feel free to say 'Gin,
slow down and repeat yourself.' I'll laugh, apologize, and slow
       down and repeat myself.

I personally prefer Story over combat.

Has a place been decided for the game? Are we using the VT I
linked and recommend earlier, or are we using Miran's
       recommendation?

As I understood it, the general resolution is to use your
       program Gingkage. The virtual table.
Say true, I find both story and combat important, at least for
starting. Both are involved in learning the ropes. Although to
note, the story does not forcibly need to be complex at the
start. Something along the lines of what the DM did in the video
I posted is good enough. We could start wi a simple enough yet
interesting story, it would be easier on you as well, and, as
you propose from going to oneshot to extended campaign, have
things become more complex further on.

I love the excitement of combat, the moments were quick thinking
and a good roll can save the day, and know from experience that
I'd miss it in a purely story-driven game. But I cherish fights
even more for all that led to them, so an engaging story is even
       more important.
After all, without first forging connections to the people and
places in the world, why risk life and limb (or charsheet) to
change it for the better? Without getting to know our
companions, how could we fight as a team? - Although getting
dropped into battle right at the beginning can be fun too, but
       maybe not this time.

       OK let's see
My character is Orianna, a Tiefling Cleric.
       Her current stats are
       Strength : 17
       Constitution: 14
       Dexterity : 13
       Intelligence: 16
       Wisdom: 18
       Charisma: 18
Current Equipment is a basic Club, +1 magic chain mail armor (I
think) and a simple small shield.
Feat's are: Simple Melee, Simple Ranged, armor proficiency in
Chainmail, Leather and Hide. It says Ritual Caster and Channel
Divinity: Sehanine's Reversal as my other feats
If there's not anything else I need to say, I'll put in a bit
about her, because that's what I spent 80% of the time doing. I
       enjoy creating characters ~u~
Orianna is short and very thin, with the height of 5'4" (not
including horns), with skin of a dark red colour. Despite her
species and class, she is a very nervous and timid person who
likes to spend time alone. She is always afraid of screwing up
her duties or magic. She is rather annoyed about being small,
but attempts to make up for it with her horns, which grow
straight up roughly 5 inches. Said horns are normally covered by
a hood built into Orrianna's robes. It looks rather awkward,
because there is a large gap between her eyes (which are pure
yellow and glow) and the top of the hood.
Despite her shyness, she can channel her deity, Sahanine's,
powers to temporarily become quite the diplomat and speaker
       (hence the charisma stat).
She does not like hurting others, but is not really a pacifist
and will fight if needed. Or if you pulled her tail. In which
case she'll probably bite you. With lots of sharp pointy teeth.
As you can see, I probably ignored most of the rules to just go
       and design a character anyway
       So yeah

Since the DnD group is going to be splitting into two groups out
of necessity, I have a favor to ask of the experienced players.
Would the people who are experienced with DnD and know the rules
be willing to make sure that both games has at least one person
who's familiar with the game system?

My experience is rather limited I would say, but if needed, I am
certain ready to join a group out of necessity and to help
       newcomers.
