Granted, it is a masterpiece that would make even the gods of
writing envious, but your dog eats it, making you use the excuse
"My dog ate my homework".
I wish for less (OR easier) homework.

Granted! However, you end up with octuplets, each of which are
troublemakers and spend the rest of your life chasing after them
and trying to make them behave and learn something.
I wish I could understand every language.

Granted. You spend the rest of your life as a scientist's lab
rat, poked and prodded and quizzed as they try to discover the
source of your power. And your understanding doesn't even let
you speak, read, or write the languages you didn't already know.
I wish my muse would stop being so gosh-darned finicky and let
me write more.

Your Muse becomes less finicky towards vegetables, making you
only write stories where everything is made out of, or deals
with, vegetables.
I wish I could sing a perfectly toned lullaby of my favorite
song.

Granted! However, the instant that people realize you can do
this, you're automatically dragged into a record making fiasco
as companies fight over the right to sell your voice.
