Well, I love pretty much all foreign languages that I've heard
or seen (which, admittedly, isn't many), but I think I'm gonna
have to go with Spanish. It's the only one I can
semi-competently read (meaning if you give me enough time to
stare at a sentence in Spanish I can usually get the gist of it
if it ain't complicated), and I have a fondness for it likely
due to being Spanish on my mom's side.
TPBM (new question because I think my last one killed the thread
:P): When reading, writing, or watching any fictional story,
what is something that you love seeing happen?
I personally love it when a character does something minor that,
because of what that character is like, is so much more
significant than it would be if another person did the same
thing. For example in an rp I'm writing with a friend of mine,
my character is very private, keeps to herself, and does not
under any circumstances make physical contact with anyone. So in
the few instances where she does, the brief, almost unnoticeable
touches carry more weight and meaning than they would if another
person had done the same thing. Stuff like that makes my day and
is just far too awesome.

There are very few things that can make me cry, but a surefire
way to tear me up is to make me invest emotions into a character
and see them make a difficult decision that overcomes some
deep-seeded flaw or put into a situation that allows them to
display some sort of heroic quality (esp. selflessness or
courage). I love seeing characters reach their full potential,
either in a positive situation (successfully tying a knot that
they've never managed to tie correctly before, thereby saving
their best friend) or a tragic one (the typical, "I'll hold them
off while you escape."). Probably a fairly predictable response
since such events are often the single reason for the existence
of the character in a story but it's the first thing that came
to mind.
To the person below me:
What is it that brings you the greatest sense of joy?
For me it would have to be playing with my dog - throwing sticks
and stones for her in the lake nearby my house, and scratching
her behind the ears on the rare occasion she brings anything
back xD Seeing her simple happiness (and trust in me as her
owner to bring her that happiness) is something that makes me
joyful beyond compare.

Slightly cliche, here, but honestly? Getting to actually hang
out with Draketh in person. Long-distance works, but isn't
really fun, and I can still count the number of times I've seen
him in person on two hands. Several of our friends have actually
remarked they've never seen either of us smile more than when
they saw us hanging out together, so i guess it shows xD
To the person below me: what makes it impossible for you to
finish a book/story?
For me, it's if things start getting SO DESCRIPTION HEAVY, there
feels like there's no story, and I get bored.

For me, it is if things in the story stop making sense. One of
the stories I read had the main character abused by his family,
they hid things from him and ignored him. He was the black
sheep, where his father loved the boy from a different family
more than him, simply because of how he was chosen to live.
After years of this, he finds out, several months after the
fact, that he now has a little brother who his mother is doting
on. At this point, I expected arson or murder, but instead that
wasn't what happened. I put it down after that.
To the person below me: Sticking with the book theme, why did
you choose the last book that you read. The last thing I read
was the first book in a series. I have read it before, but I
haven't read the last 3 books, cause they weren't out yet, so I
needed to reread and finish the series.

The last book I started reading was "A Tale of Two Cities", and
because my mom recommended it for me when I was looking for good
books for long plane rides! I haven't gotten too far in, but if
you manage to avoid getting bogged down in the occasional PAGES
of over the top descriptions, it's quite good.
TPBM: You're bored and working on your latest assignment when,
*BAM*, you are teleptorted into a fictional world (Narnia style)
of either literature or film or game or other media. What world
would you pick?
I'd probably pick the world of Eragon, but *after* the series so
as to avoid the evil king and to have a chance at being a dragon
rider.
