       Considering that this is simply a request thread, and in no way,
       shape, or form a farewell or departure, I felt General
       Discussion to be the appropriate subforum to place this post.
       To begin, I cannot express just how grateful I am to you all for
       the clan’s participation in the democratic process of our latest
       vote, and I respect the vote’s outcome as determined by the
       clan-majority.
       However, I cannot reconcile my personal sense of integrity with
       the idea that I now, as result of this recent vote, inhabit a
       clan-defined position of privilege where my perspective,
       opinions, feelings, and concerns should outweigh at any time
       those of another person within the shared spaces of the Beacons
       of Hope.
       While I understand and support a hierarchy of permissions, I
       cannot personally reconcile my participation as a privileged
       member in a hierarchy of rights, where there is a discrepancy in
       the value given to a person’s perspective and experience based
       on which group they belong to. I do not have any wish for my
       perspective to be given more value than any other person’s, nor
       do I feel like I can ensure that fairness of treatment between
       myself and others unless I inhabit a position that assumes
       absolutely zero superiority of rights over any other person.
       Therefore, I would like to submit this post as my official
       request to be lowered indefinitely to the rank of Guest.
       This doesn’t mean that I have any intentions of vanishing from
       chat or clan spaces! The Beacons of Hope and its community have
       always been both blessing and refuge for me over the years,
       first as Faerdin’s-girlfriend-guest, and then as a Member
       myself. I still very deeply feel tied to the compassion,
       creativity, honor, and upliftingness I’ve experienced here — all
       of which have defined my understanding of what it means to be a
       Beacon, and shaped how I have endeavored to act as one myself.
       Right now, I just feel it most appropriate for me to adjust my
       own standing in regards to the clan, in order to respect what
       has been fairly and democratically decided by clan-majority to
       be the clan’s opinion on this issue, while still staying true to
       my personal sense of integrity.
       I’m grateful to every single participant of BoH’s community for
       their understanding in my decision. And if by chance you have
       any questions, I welcome and encourage y’all to chat with me
       directly! I will always be happy to talk with others towards the
       goal of the clearest communication and understanding possible
       (hence this thread).
       Thank you all, once more, endlessly and with every ounce of my
       gratitude and respect.
