What's the big deal with Minecraft?

okay so it seems like 50% of the kids in my school play
minecraft and/or highly addicted to it. (And cannot stop talking
about it)
Oh and then I tell them about Blockland, and they look at me
like, "what the hell is that game?" and almost ignore the fact
that it's fun.
What's the big deal about it?

i think kids are just addicted to it and dont want to hear
anything about better games than that crap.

I know about, eh, 3 or 5(?) kids in my sunday school class who
play it. None of them are really addicted.
I can remember an Minecraft vs Blockland argument I had with
some friends. Only thing they cared (except 1 of them) about was
the fact that it was a survival game. I love how some call it a
"sandbox" game when it's more survival than anything.
Ironically, lightning (Ryan) was there at the time and ended up
exchanging XBOX names with one of them.
I don't really find a problem with Minecraft. I don't enjoy it
but thankfully their players don't come lashing out our game
like ROBLOX does. (Blockland Wiki accident lol!)
Back on topic, Minecraft is overrated. However I don't find a
problem with their players.

Well lets see, my friend and her 3 brothers (2 of them play
Minecraft, I think). I think she plays too, not sure.

She's more of someone I know than anything.
I get along well with her brothers.
