We arrive back and CHP with high hopes! They are going to
attempt to remove Blake's stent today during his scope. If it
doesn't remove easily, then he will have to have it removed by
the GI specialist on March 31. That would mean yet another
surgery and more anesthesia. Please pray that the Dr is able to
removed it today and we don't have to put Blake through another
procedure!
(Afternoon, March 1, 2017)
Surgery is done and we are in recovery. Everything went well and
great news: the stent is removed! However, Blake's colon is big,
bad, and ugly! The surgeon is suspecting ulcerative colitis and
primary sclerosing cholangitis (liver). We won't know for sure
until biopsy results come back. We then have to follow up with
GI specialists and liver specialists to discuss treatments. In
the meantime, we need to continue to closely monitor his weight.
It looks like we are going to have more trips between Erie and
Pittsburgh.
