We follow up with the GI Specialist here in Erie (Dr. Ng) We
finally have some answers! First of all, Blake does not have
celiac disease. It is his gall bladder that is the problem. We
meet with the surgeon this Friday to discuss having it removed.
He also has a surgery scheduled at the end of March to have the
stent removed from his common bile duct. The dr wants the gall
bladder out asap. He feels that Blake will recover quickly and
       fully once it's removed.

We went to meet the surgeon today, expecting to be scheduled to
have Blakes gall bladder removed. Instead, we were told that the
surgeon feels that there are too many complications and problems
with still unknown answers for her to feel comfortable removing
his gall bladder. She's concerned about Blakes lymph nodes and
his bile ducts. All are enlarged and abnormal. She's also
worried because Blake has lost 42 lbs since December. So, she is
referring us to a gall bladder specialist. The dr isn't sure if
the specialist will take on the case because of Blakes age. If
he is willing to take Blakes case and travel to Erie from
Pittsburgh, then he will consult with us and come up with a
treatment plan. Otherwise we will be referred to children's
hospital in Pittsburgh. I have decided as a fed up mom who is
tired of watching her child suffer in pain and discomfort, that
if I have not heard from the specialist by Monday afternoon that
I am requesting a referral to Pittsburgh.
