Wishes DO come true!

It's been over 2 years since Blake's initial diagnosis. He
continues to take Urisodiol daily for his PSC, Balsalazide daily
for his UC, Folic Acid Daily, A Vitamin D supplement once a
month, and Methotrexate on a weekly basis. Thankfully, he now
is able to take the Methotrexate orally. No more weekly
injections! Both diseases seem to be under control at this time,
although he does suffer occasional flare ups. Blake has become
accustomed to how his body responds and reacts, so that has
helped tremendously! He knows that after eating a meal, he's
going to need to be near a restroom. He also has learned which
foods he can tolerate and which ones will cause cramping, or
bowel issues. He avoids eating greasy foods for the most part,
but LOVES his taco bell.
Blake was recently approved by Make A Wish to have a wish
granted. So, in 3 weeks our family will be heading to Hawaii! I
feel it's important to clarify that Make A Wish is not just for
terminally ill children. Make A Wish grants wishes of children
who suffer from critical illness. By having their wishes
granted, a child and their family are able to forget about
things such as outstanding medical bills, tests, and doctors for
a short while. A trip lifts the spirits of everyone involved.
It also gives the family a sense of hope. If a child’s wildest
wish can come true, then perhaps anything is possible! For more
