       Tuesday morning, January 17, 2017
       When I went to wake him up, he let me know that he wanted to go
       to hospital. His stomach pain was back and worse. I decided to
       call the family dr. first for advise. Meanwhile, I left him in
       Mike's care while I went to work. I hated leaving him, but we
       are dealing with budget cuts at work and I knew we were already
       short staffed. The dr. office called me back at work and
       informed me that our Dr was out of the office and taking Blake
       back to the ER was the best thing to do.
       January 17, 2017 5:30 pm.
       The ER was VERY crowded. After waiting in the waiting room for 5
       1/2 hours we were finally taken to an exam room. They again ran
       bloodwork. This time, his liver enzymes were DOUBLE what the
       initially were at the beginning. His ALT/SGPT should be 13-56.
       His were 142. AST/SGOT normal range is 15-37. Blakes were 88.
       They admitted him and the GI specialist on call ordered an MRI
       for first thing in the morning.
       January 18, 2017
       They performed the MRI and it showed that Blake's liver,
       gallbladder, and pancreas are all enlarged. His CBD as well as
       his cystic duct are also enlarged. The GI specialist met with us
       and told us that the issue is that there is a huge difference
       between Pediatric Gastrointestinal medicine and adult GI. He is
       an adult GI Dr. In order to be treated by a Pediatric GI Dr. we
       would need to be seen in Pittsburgh . We had 2 options-- be
       transported to UPMC Childrens in Pittsburgh today OR have a
       scope performed here tomorrow and see if they can find the
       answers. We opted for the scope. If they still can't determine
       the cause/problem then we will be transported to Pittsburgh. The
       scope is scheduled for between 6:30 and 7 am. Their main concern
       right now is liver failure. We are in the Pediatric Unit/Womens
       Center at UPMC Hamot. Room W514.
       January 19, 2017
       During the scope they found "gravel" in Blakes Common Bile Duct
       and removed it. The dr also noticed that the duct was very
       narrow at the end of it. He inserted a stent in order to keep
       the duct open and draining. We need to go to Pittsburgh for an
       endoscopic ultrasound, but it will be an outpatient procedure.
       So, we have some answers, but not all. The gravel was blocking
       the CBD, but why?
       January 20, 2017
       Blake is discharged to go home.
