Ok, we can decide that closer to New Year I guess, I just want
to make sure that we don't end up without any video. Sounds
good.

So the candidates we have are
Spawntown, Kaktoland
Capital, Aahrus
Vrus, Aahrus
Oasis City, Kaeshar
Revolt City, Revolute De Snow
Desertopia, Desertopia
The Nether
I uhh will make a poll in the Blacraft Voting Center soon I
guess. Voting for places you manage will not be allowed.
Also I suggest that we move the Blacraft New Year celebration to
the UTC midnight between December 30 and 31, so that it will not
interfere with people's IRL New Year celebrations, even though I
know it sounds a bit uncool to celebrate it the day before, but
then again, New Year actually happens at different moments for
all of us because of the time zones in the first place, so I
assume it shouldn't make too much of a difference.

About the first poll about us celebrating it at exactly the same
time every year, I think that since it's more of a special event
and Blacraft isn't likely to last 10 more years, that giving it
regulations is silly, and also if say yqt is on vacation at that
time, he won't be able to participate because it has a set time
and won't be moved.

The poll simply says that the event will be defined at that time
so that we won't have to make the same poll every year. Now we
can just make a new poll if we want to change it, for example if
Yqt is on vacation we could set a poll for the event to be at
another day for a single year, and this poll would apply for the
other years. I don't see how that is silly, it seems pretty
simple to me.

2 people voted for and 2 people voted against the New Year time
poll.

Smj, Darvince, why did you vote against it? What time do you
think it should be celebrated?

I just think it should be flexible and not at a set time every
year and I think the evening of the 31st would be good, even if
it's a bit early for those in the US.
Or we could do it by central atlantic time zone or something to
balance things out.

I agree with smjjames about flexibility, I'm fine if it's
celebrated when you said it would be for this year, but what if,
for example, in 2015, yqt is on vacation at that time and the
poll that year lands it in Aahrus, why celebrate it when Yqt
can't when it's in his own territory? Also, since it's a
once-a-year event I think it is needless to come up with rules
and regulations for it as in my opinion, it would reduce its
importance as it would become a systematic thing that doesn't
adjust itself so that all people can celebrate it/be there for
it just like everything else in Blacraft.

Ok I think I already gave a response to both of your arguments
(which seem to be the same), that it isn't flexible. My
intention with the poll was simply to make the time the default
time, so that we will not have to make a poll every year to
celebrate it at that time. Instead, if Yqt is on vacation, we
could then make a poll that year to move the celebration a day
or whatever, that would be no problem, and simpler than making a
poll every year about when it should be. I guess the poll was
just badly worded, anyway, if I put up a new poll with this
intention, would you vote for it?
As for the other point that it's "needless to come up with rules
and regulations", that's like saying it's needless to even
define the date we should celebrate it. The question is just
whether we should let that simple rule - when we celebrate New
Year - cover this time only or simply be the default rule where
we can just change the rule if we ever need to.
Now smjjames' comment on when it should be celebrated, ok I
understand that you prefer it to be at that time, but consider
that many people (or at least I) are busy on the New Year day
because they celebrate it with their family - luckily for me UTC
is an hour off from midnight so I can get to do and see some
fireworks before Blacraft, but it's a bit of an interruption in
the party. Additionally, I will no longer live at my parents
when we celebrate New Year, so I would have to bring my computer
over to come on Blacraft, not that it's impossible. At least for
me, it would be much easier if we celebrated it on December 30.
Then there's no interference and we have two separate days to
celebrate New Year, one with the Blacraft community and one with
IRL people. Did that change anyone's opinion?

Oh, kol, I thought the poll meant that it would have to be at
that time every year. In that case I change my wote to yes.

That's pretty much how I interpreted it. I'll change the vote
back to yes.
