Well I have tested all the plugins and results:
Rolling minecarts is completely broken, I'll look into smjjames'
options that he posted above.
cmagnet doesn't work for trapped chests (yet, I'm assuming
they'll add that functionality).
If you don't set a deathchest you'll get spammed with a "no room
in death chest" error when you die.
Everything else should work perfectly fine. I tested on the
temporary server and I won't reverted it back to vanilla, so if
you want to try out something go ahead.
Just a minor option for deathchests (if we do use them), should
I have it set so that it links with LWC? ie to make a death
chest you'll either need to public lock it or private lock it.
Without this feature on it is as easy as what I said in the
original post.

Yeah a public deathchest would be reasonable, but what if you
die and respawn in wherever you set the home bed, but the stuff
ends up in the public chest which is in Spawntown. Or am I
misunderstanding it a bit?
Alternatively, instead of (or in addition to) putting a chest
that says ______ Deathchest, you can set it up to spawn a chest
or a sign on death.

You are misunderstanding it. I can set up deathchests to require
that a chest be registered to LWC before it can become a
deathchest, or not.

Well, maybe have the flexibility of choosing whether to make it
public or private?

The deathchest would definetly be useful for those that have
problems caving without dying much (and is useful when you have
an inventory full of stuff and die in lava).
Also useful for fighting the enderdragon. Except that any
potions the person had on won't be available to others, but that
can be worked out.

But being able to fly and having infinite life is also using for
all sorts of things. But it removes the challenge from the game.
I think deathchests are a very bad idea to be honest. I don't
remember what I said about it though. If we're going to use
them, the items could go to some special storage that only
admins could access, and people could request their items back
if they lost them because of a bug. Idk.
Maybe if the deathchests are placed in a sufficiently annoying
location, it will outweigh the reward. If we made some sort of
lava parkour track people would have to go through every time
kol. Then again they could also just dirt pillar I guess. Maybe
an obsidian maze. And people could get banned for destroying
blocks in the area or something. Idk. Discuss.
About cmagnet, I don't see why we would need that anymore now
that there are hoppers?

So what you're suggesting at first is that if someone dies they
can't get their stuff even if it normally wouldn't have expired
yet, if it wasn't due to a bug? That's just being a dick.
For your suggestion that's slightly closer to vanilla Minecraft,
how is there a reward at all for dying? You'll still lose the
experience. Also, a maze would be too simple because there is a
rule for mazes that gives you a 100% success rate. Anything that
can be solvable is simply time-consuming since things in chests
cannot despawn. I think vanilla Minecraft (other than when you
die in lava, you should still be able to retrieve those) is best
as you have a time limit to retrieve your items.

Still nice to have the option depending on the situation, but
yes you're right, the hoppers make the cmagnet function
obsolete.
Sounds like you're trying to make it pointless to even have that
plugin and I've already thought of a few ways that it could be
used as a shortcut (not that i would abuse it......) so I get
your point. However, yqt also has a point with people dying due
to bugs, so maybe we can just have it until people stop dying
due to glitches?

It is possible for an admin to set up deathchests in a certain
location and not allow someone else to move them. The idea
behind it is that bukkit 1.5 is incredibly buggy (I already
spawned underground yesterday) and this will simply solve the
problem of having to respawn items everyday. I know you don't
like the idea, but you also won't be the person who will have to
respawn the items.
