       New to fitness

I am new to working out and specifically paying more attention
to what I eat. Since January I've lost around 30 pounds. At
the moment I've kind of plateaued. My wife and I had a lot on
our plates last week and did not get much exercise in. We've
been doing well and going at least 4 to 5 times to walk on the
treadmill. I'm interested in different workouts that other
people do to help give me ideas as well.
From a nutrition standpoint, I've been eating more protein as
well as protein drinks in the morning. Not to sound gross, but
I've got digestion issues that hit me almost 3 years ago out of
the blue (probably stress related). According to the doctors,
all is well, but it's not.
Having said all that, with cutting out carbs almost entirely,
and basing more on protein, do any of you have issues with
increased amounts of protein? Wondering if I should lay off the
shakes and protein added foods and stick to protein from meat,
       fish, chicken, etc.
I know I should see a nutritionist, but I don't have time (make
time) to go see one. So I guess I'm sort of self-medicating, so
       to speak.
I appreciate any ideas and your time.

I think protein shakes are good and there is some science behind
taking in 30 grams of protein within 30 mins of waking that is
supposed to increase your metabolism for the day. I sometimes do
that if I don’t have time to eat. I wouldn’t drink them and eat
something. Let that be my meal. Food protein is obviously better
than shakes but I find it hard sometimes to get that meal in.
When I train heavy I do uses the shakes to help fuel the
muscles. As far as the digestion problem. Have you tried
       drinking apple cider vinegar?

       Hey Brothers,
I can attest to the effects of stress on the body. I concur
with Black Scout on the benefits of a good protein powder as
well as apple cider vinegar. Perhaps a natural supplement would
assist as well? I've had great success with Ashwagandha for
Testosterone stabilization / boosting as well stress reduction
and sleeping aid. Safe and all natural. Not expensive either.

Another great supplement is l-arginine, l-orinithine. Aids in
muscle recovery, growth hormone stabilization. Safe and
effective. I'm partial to Swanson Vitamins for supps. purchase
due to their quality and prices. Hope this helps!
