How to make your device faster. Language Pack & Retina Image

Deleting Language Packs
You will need MobileTerminal & Syscleanpro from cydia.
(Syscleanpro is available through Insanelyi repo. ( add
repo.insanelyi.com to your sources)
Once you have installed both through Cydia open mobile terminal.
Make sure your iphones sleep setting is set to never.
In terminal type: su (Then press enter).
Then type alpine as the Password (If you have not already
changed terminal password, and then press enter).
It will then come up with /var/mobile root#. Type syscleanpro
Syscleanpro will update and check you current space and system.
It will then give you Y (yes) and N (no) options.
Would you like to remove retina images? Y or N : Type Y It
will then search for images and delete them, this can take time
so be patient.
Next it goes into keyboards to delete:
Do not delete Textinput_bo
Delete all others if you do not use them. It will ask you to
confirm the files which are being deleted. If you have made a
mistake this is your chance to start again.
Next it goes into languages packs to delete:
Delete all BUT Japanese if you use Emoji smileys! :) If you have
no need for other languages.
It will confirm with you again the files being deleted, so this
is again your chance to start removing languages again.
The program will then ask if you want to keep it or delete it. I
keep the program installed it as it tells you the before and
after and also can be used again to delete retina images from
new apps. It can be removed through Cydia later if you wish.
Once you have done this, you can exit the terminal by pressing
your home button.

Do note when installing icleaner it requires alot of
dependencies making you install alot of additional crap you
won't need plus doing things manually is more efficient and fun
for newbies especially when they start to learn about the
internal stuff :D

Yeah. I loved that stuff when I started using the terminal. Made
me feel so smart xD

to be honest i didn't really feel smart or anything when i first
used terminal. but anyway i still don't understand how retina
images work what the difference like why are they a bigger
file?when they are the same image and normal ones... right?

That is the thing, they aren't the same... @2x means that the
file is double the size. For example, 320x480 is normal size
while 640x 960 is @2x (retina) which is double the resolution
and that makes the file size bigger as well...

well, i have an iphone 3g and a 3gs. I use icleaner on both of
them and i havenīt had any problems yet, but if you like to play
around with terminal have fun ;)

All these debs use scripts that do it all for you. You can use
the same scripts in Terminal and it will give the same effect
plus you won't have the deb taking up space ;)
