no you dont. it will start using the file created when you use
all the avalible memory that is already on the ipod touch.
FYI dont use sbsetting to free ram... it will cores your ipod
sprinboard to crash... well when you have the dynamic and that
stuff installed it will crash if you use sbsettings... if tryed
it many time but it always crashes...

Wait what? I found the biggest increase in RAM when SBSettings
was installed. When it wasn't, I found no difference at all in
the RAM.

the only thing i saw was my spring board respring evdery time i
pressed free memory other than that it was great to have. but i
hate mobile substrate...

I use this all the time and it works well. I personally think it
makes the device smoother.
As said it is a personal decision whether you want to use this
or not.
I have SBSettings for the use of toggles, and I do not free the
memory straight away as it frees up through usage. And remember
to delete the swapfiles and reboot.

Why delete the swapfiles? They will only come back... Won't
they?
It won't speed your device up. If anything it will slow it down
because the iPod CPU wasn't made to run the extra "ram". And the
"extra ram" is only used as needed. Btw if Cydia needs some more
ram then it will use part of the swapfile and will crash just
saying.

It's not using extra ram, it's clearing out some of the
background tasks to make it look that way but in fact it is just
using more memory. I don't suggest it, but I know this works
through my experience.

yeah cuss for some reason it wont run using part swapfile part
original ram.
