[Tutorial] Making Bl4ck0ut even faster!
By: Reloader Date: November 1, 2012, 5:57 am
---------------------------------------------------------
Tools Needed:
iFunBox or iFile
Hex Editor (HDD Hex Editor Neo for example)
iDevice with Bl4ck0ut
1. Go to System - Library - CoreServices - Springboard.app -
N72AP.plist (N82AP.plist for iPhone) and remove the lines:
<key>armv7</key>
<true/>
<key>opengles-2</key>
<true/>
and
<key>homescreen-wallpaper</key>
<true/>
2. Now still in Springboard.app there should be a file called
Springboard, open it with Hex Editor (I use HDD Hex Editor Neo)
and find the word "kGSOpenGLES2Capability" without the quotes.
There should be two of them, you replace in both, the 2 with 1
so it stays like this "kGSOpenGLES1Capability". //I noticed by
fixing the multitasking annoying lines and stopping the device
think that your cpu reads armv7, my iDevice got faster!
3. Install Backgrounder and disable the option "Fall Back to
Native" and "Status Bar Icon" in "Global" section and close
Backgrounder (it should respring) and you should be able to put
apps in multitasking bar by pressing home button (but if you
want to put an app running without need to press anything just
go to "Global" section again and select the option "Enable at
Launch").
4. Go to Cydia and install iCleaner, once installed open it and
click "Clean" on top right (a window popup will happend saying
something like "Test Mode is advised" etc, just ignore it and
continue), after that it will ask you to respring, do it. After
respringing go to iCleaner again and select "Languages to
Remove", select the ones you want to remove, go back and select
"Remove Languages", after removing languages remove retina &
ipad images too.
5. Now this is optional, is only if you still want to have a
nice homescreen wallpaper like Native one but faster. Install
Winterboard and download "iOS5 Complete" and "Better White Icon
Labels" themes. Open Winterboard and select "Summerboard mode",
then go to "Select Themes" and choose "iOS 5 Wallpapers" and
"Better White Icon Labels" and finally respring.
If you want to change the homescreen wallpaper and lockscreen
too, just SSH into Library - Themes - iOS5 Wallpapers, there
should be 2 files "LockBackground.png" and "Wallpaper.png",
rename the wallpapers you want to use to the same name as those
and replace them.
Afterall this, reboot your device, you should now have a faster
iDevice with multitasking and homescreen wallpaper enabled!

Nice guide!! I might do this later because I did some stuff to
my device and I am pretty sure it won't work. I will restore it
soon and try this later. The only problem with this is that
Winterboard slows down your device substantially and I wouldn't
do that. I don't have a problem without Wallpapers though so it
doesn't matter. +1 :)

Thanks mate :D. I'm looking for a faster way to have a nice
homescreen wallpaper without Winterboard (Native alternative
too) :)

maybe a modified version of bosspaper? so it would load even
with the folder/multitasking opened and have no lags

Yea, a BossPaper Lite version or so, just to change the
wallpaper and add better white icon labels so we can have a fast
iDevice with a good design like newer devices :)

Awesome! Ive been thinking and when wallpaper is disabled, the
homescreen is black right? Maybe thats a jpg or a png and we
just need to SSH into it and replace it?
