Market Shuffle (afternoon, open, 2 days after the Coronation)

2 Days have gone by since the debacle that was the Coronation.
In those two days the rulers of Celestia and Amari and the Haven
Guild have begone sending out soldiers to investigate the
situation along with keeping the peace. The Celestian king
wondered if perhaps they were wrong to assume it was just a
nightly birth they needed to watch for and was taking measures
to look into every birth that occurred that day. While that was
happening the tremors were happening, weak for now but
constantly reminding the world they were currently on borrowed
time. Researches in Amari were keeping a constant watch on the
tremors and ley lines, unfortunately no one was sure how much
they had before things became worse as most Protectors renewed
the contract swiftly. For the low income villages the situation
was entirely different, the slight tremors causing damages and
problems but luckily aid was being sent to help and keep the
peace.
For now Dawn Rift was alive with character, people from all over
wandering the metal city, looking for work, illegal items or
just wandering. Many though had taken notice of the situation,
as the usually warm days were just a tad bit chillier, something
they all took note of but dismissed because surely their leaders
would find the Protector soon and this whole thing would blow
over.

Lita walked swiftly through the streets of Dawn Rift, a dark
brown hood covered her head from the windy chill. Her right hand
was wrapped in bandages to hide the black mark that was on it.
As she walked she back to the last few days. After her fainting
spell she'd awoken still alone and with the timer blaring hours
after the coronation ended, vaguely she remembered the echoed
words. "I wish it'd been a dream but it happened, my hand proves
it...somehow I'm the Protector and I don't know what to do!" she
thought looking down at the list in her hand. Normally she'd
have gone to Celestia to pick up things but she figured it best
to stay out of the capital, at least til she figured out what to
do.
She sighed thinking not only was she fated to save the world her
parents had kept her actual birth a secret, something she'd
found out after Vern had returned and given her a dark red
wooden box. He explained it was oddly dropped off to him
sometime after her parents were killed, he was instructed to not
hand it over until after her 20th birthday but after what
happened at the palace he figured it best to just give it to her
now. Inside were her birth records, unofficial since she'd been
born outside the system, a letter and a necklace containing a
pure white anwen stone. She had read over her birth records,
frowning but not fully understanding. It wasn't until she read
the letter that she knew why she'd been born outside the system,
her records forged and the meaning of her actual birth. Her
mother had not known the reason guards were posted at every
hospital she explained, thinking something bad would happen
she'd left the capital and moved to Haven and when she went into
labor her parents had fled to the forests in search of a
midwife. She'd been born on the night the moons aligned, only
one other person had been born at that time, Mimiru Queen, the
previously assumed Protector. The letter continued that they
forged papers to have her birth the day before and they returned
to Haven. The midwife had sworn to secrecy and suggested the
letter for a later time, along with that she had gifted her the
pure white anwen, known to have strong protective qualities and
aid those with defensive magic.
Lita tucked the stone beneath her shirt, not wanting anyone to
see and steal it. She once again wondered what she should do.
The Contract needed to be renewed but she had no training or
idea on how to accomplish that." with another sigh, this time of
frustration and despair she'd focus on getting through her
errands. So lost in her thoughts she didn't notice she'd
wandered down several unfamiliar streets until she looked up and
noticed she was not where she was supposed to be. "Damn it, I
don't need this..." she muttered.

A contented sigh escaped Kira's lips as she wandered through the
streets of Dawn Rift. It was clear to those who knew her that
she had been out training. Her silvery blue hair was tied up
with a black ribbon, and a few flyaway pieces were damp with
sweat and tucked behind her ears. Her clothes were loose but
comfortable and her sword was nestled in it's sheath, which lay
across her back. She hummed softly as she made her way through
the streets.
As she was making her way back home a sigh caught her ear.
Normally she might ignore such a thing, but the level of
frustration in the sigh left her curious if she could help.
Bright blue eyes scanned the people around her settling on a
figure in a dark brown hood. She didn't look immediately
familiar to Kira and the way she looked around, she could guess
the area was as familiar to the girl as the girl was to Kira.
She walked over to the girl. "I don't think you are from around
here. Do you need help finding something?"

Lita jumped, her surprise clearly on her face at being
addressed. She was silent for a few seconds before her mind
caught up with the question. "OH! Umm yes just a bit turned
around is all." she admitted awkwardly. "I'm just looking for
the market place." she added. Lita knew the city was filled with
unsavory characters and hoped she wasn't getting herself into
more trouble. "She seems nice, something about her...." she
thought and absently rubbed at her bandaged hand thought once
she noticed she quickly stopped and tucked her hands into her
pockets.

Jasper walked the streets of dawn rift. Confusion was written
all over his face. Old man crawley had asked him to deliver a
very expensive package of jewels. Unfortunately jasper lost the
map once he got to the city. "I think im lost....." jasper
mumbles as looks around. An obviously shadowy figure walks by
and jasper stops him "scuse me do you know where Crown Jewelers
is? I have a bag of priceless gems i need to get to them" jasper
holds up the bag and shakes it. The jewels could be heard
clatterinf together. The shadowy man looks at jasper and doesnt
know if hes stupid or if it was a trap. The man simply walks
away. "S-sir! Can you help me!? I JUST NEED TO DELIVER THESE
PRICELESS JEWELS!" he yells.

As soon as Jasper finished shouting, silence reigned in the
immediate area as almost everyone turned to look in his
direction. Some looked at each other in disbelief while others
smirked at the obvious opportunity. A few men began to approach
"If you'd like we wouldn't mind helping you." one of them said,
his grin snake like as another piped in "Yes we wouldn't want
you to run into the more unsavory groups that run around here."

Kira smile warmly at the surprised girl before her. At the
admission she merely nodded. "It's not hard to get turned
around here if your not very familiar with the area. It can be
likened to a labirynth in some areas.". The girls motions with
her hands caught Kira's eye and piqued her curiosity for a
moment, wondering if the girl had been hurt. "The market? Well
you didn't miss it by much, just a few turns to far. I can take
you back there if you like. I'm pretty well versed on the
location here. I'm Kira by the way.". She extended a hand in
greeting.
Hearing the commotion nearby she raised an eyebrow. What on
earth was someone thinking shouting that here? We're they
trying to get themselves mugged? She sighed a she saw the
crowds make their way in that direction. "Maybe a quick stop in
the way to the market....See if we can keep that fellow from
being led off with some local unsavories." She sighed to
herself.

Lita looked at the hand before slowly taking her unwrapped hand
out her pocket. She took the other girls hand, nearly snatching
it back a moment later when she felt a spark race up her arm.
Unconsciously she relaxed as though something inside her said it
was okay to trust the other girl. "That... would be perfect,
thank you. I'm Lita." she said and was about to thank her again
but a voice, a very familiar one stopped her. She groaned softly
and turned in that direction, she'd know that shouting anywhere
"Yes we should go help him..."
She wondered who would send Jasper of all people to Dawn Rift.
She hoped interfering wouldn't cause more trouble but knew
leaving the other boy by himself would be more problematic.

jasper grins happily and meets the men half way "thank you soooo
much." at the mention of unsavory characters jasper clenched the
bag and looked at it "unsavory? like....muggers? old man crawley
said that if I ever came across muggers it would be ok to eat
them." he says with a grin that reached from ear to ear "luckily
I met you guys so i don't have to eat anyone......I just ate and
mama Lee says not too eat too much or i'll get a stomach ache"

The mans grin faltered for a moment, wondering what the kid
meant by "eat them". Nodding hesitantly he looked at the others
"Right...well this place is filled with more than just your
common muggers." he said and threw an arm around him. "Stick
with us and nothing will harm you."
Unbeknownst to Lita, the moment she touched Kira the marking
hidden beneath her bandages began to glow faintly as the bond
between guardian and protector was made. For Kira she would feel
a sense of protectiveness towards the other girl
