Mark Twain was one of the literary greats, but Shakespeare is
one of my favorite authors.
All the world's a stage, and all the men and women merely
players: they have their exits and their entrances; and one man
in his time plays many parts, his acts being seven ages.
One of my favorite passages. I had to do this monologue in my
drama class as a group performance, and I'll never forget it.
And while on the subject of Shakespeare, my favorite
Shakespearean tragedy is Macbeth. I saw a performance of that
play when I was in 10th grade and I loved it, then my 12th grade
year we read it as an assignment. Already being familiar with
it, I was quite happy.
"By the pricking of my thumbs, something wicked this way comes."
Out of all the beautiful writing in this play, this is my
favorite line. I love the dark tone of it. It's just so eerie.
Also the way it rolls off the tongue.

I'm in loooooooooooove with Shakespeare. :-* No joke.
But my favorite play is Hamlet. I've read it so many
times....GAH, I can't get over its greatness. It's so complex,
and Hamlet is just the sort of messed up, angsty literary
character that I can't help but fall for. <3 *-*

It's from the Iliad (I LOVE The Iliad. I can read it over and
over again. I'll never be tired of it), and Hector says it as he
is saying farewell to his wife before going in to battle. Hector
is my favourite character in the story. :D

I find most of Shakespeare dreadfully dull, but we're doing
Macbeth in English now. Most of it is, unsurprisingly, dull but
there's murder and stuff in this so that's cool. We got to watch
Duncan's murder like 3 times in English. It was the 1971
Polanski version.

Snips and Skyguy! :D
I read The Illiad my 9th grade year of high school. I don't
remember it that much. Aw, I like Macbeth....and I believe I
watched that version in my English class too. :)

If you want to tell people the truth, make them laugh, otherwise
they'll kill you.
Illusion is the first of all pleasures.
It is a very sad thing that nowadays there is so little useless
information.
All art is quite useless.
All that I desire to point out is the general principle that
life imitates art far more than art imitates life.
Some of my favourites ^^
Enjoy them carefully - otherwise you'll search for more and you
might get the same Wilde-obsession as I got a year or two ago...
