"Not allowed" MEP - Happy character goes sad

I KNOW I KNOW :-[
BUT, this idea is something that's been in my mind for a while
and I just found the PERFECT song for it! (Besides, it's just a
suggestion. I'm still working on those other MEP ideas I have,
have already split the parts for the "Don't unplug me" MEP).
The idea is we take a character that is usually the happiest and
most positive in the group, s/he is the one who always cheers
everyone up or is making jokes to lighten the mood. But what
happens when that person gets sad? Will people unconsciously
start to reject that person because s/he is no longer happy?
Basically; happy character goes sad and how s/he feels like
people react the wrong way about it.
The song I want to use for this MEP is "Not allowed" by
Copeland.

Lyrics:
Here we go
I'll smile for you now 'cause you're sad
but I'm not allowed to be sad
Here we go
I'll make a joke for you now, make you smile
but I'm not allowed to be sad
Turn away fallen on the inside from your sky
Felt no pain and didn't ever want to wonder why
Here we go
I'll burn for you now cause your're mine
and you're not allowed to feel nothing
Careful I may fall apart for you now, make you cry
But I'm not allowed to be sad
Turn away fallen on the inside from your sky
Felt no pain and didn't ever want to wonder why?
Turn away fallen on the inside from your sky
Felt no pain and didn't ever want to wonder why?

I like the idea, however, I'll admit I'm confused. What
character{s} would we use for this?
