Does the existence of moral good and evil require that God exist
s?

Here is a five minute video by Peter Kreeft which argues that
because moral good and evil exist, so must God. As he says, "The
very existence of morality proves the existence of something
beyond nature and beyond man." Is his argument convincing?

If an objective morality exists, then something must have put it
there. But what if there isn't an objective morality, a Native
American would have a different idea of right and wrong than a
European Christian. The guy starts on the premise that there is
an objective morality.

Sure, but then so does the atheist, typically. His point is to
show that the atheist cannot justify the existence of good and
evil from any of his standard premises.
If someone argues that there is no such thing as good and evil
absolutely, then that is another discussion. Use your
imagination to conjure up some awful examples, then ask this
person, "Is there nothing morally wrong with this?" Most people,
when pushed, will acknowledge that some acts are intrinsically
evil, and once they do, you're back into Kreeft's discussion. If
they don't acknowledge anything as evil at all, they are
positing something that humanity as a whole, throughout its
history, has never posited, and I think this usually happens
from an impediment in the will rather than the intellect.

I think I understand, like the massacre in Connecticut?
Literally no one I think would dare call it anything less than
evil.

Right. I believe the word for someone without any conscience at
all is "psychopath," but I'm no psychologist.

The man said Heinrich Himmler had no conscience. I think he
fits in the psychopath category.
