Probably in the wrong thing

about the violence in video games (why yes I am bringing that
back up!) What about violence in cartoons? Tom and Jerry? Ren
and Stimpy? anyone? hmmmmmm? Why are we bashing only video
games? That ain't the only form of entertainment in the world of
4th wall breakology!

I think it's same idea, violence gets less and less disturbing
the more one gets exposed to any modern media.

Ah but Ren and Stimpy was made in was made in the late 80's or
so. That can hardly be classified as modern. And Tom and Jerry
has been around even longer then that! It was on when my dad was
a kid and he's a geezer! How can one say that that is modern?
Surely one cannot assume that violence in cartoon was only
viewed by this generation, cartoons and slapstick humor have
been around for decades! Not to mention, in the course of
history. Because I can go in any book and find ALL SORTS of
violence. Surely that cannot be considered nonviolent.

It's been an ongoing thing. The government needs more soldiers
who will blindly kill people when they're told.

Yes, and I'm not denying that, but that doesn't answer my
question. Why do people ONLY assume that violence is in video
games?

Maybe because they think of the fact that you're the one
participating in the virtual gorefest and that it makes the
player him/herself violent. I think it's the participation that
gets people.

Does that also mean that because I partake in the enjoyment of
Tom and Jerry and other cartoons, I'm violent because I'm
participating in watching a particular show? And does that also
mean that the government is watching me play video games and
watching television? That's not creepy at all!
