       morality VS justice!

Okay, so I talked to my father about the dialogue that
Euthniphro was prosecuting his father, and told him the
circumstances. I told him that Euthniphro was in the right for
prosecuting his father for murdering his slave. He told me that
it doesn't matter who the person that someone killed, the idea
that you protect them from their punishments would make you an
accessory to the crime. Therefore, if someone does something
wrong, and you think it's wrong, regardless of the person, if
you know it, you should probably turn them in. Yes, it may not
be very fun at Christmas or New years, and you probably will get
written out of the family will, but by bringing them to justice,
you are doing them a favor. Unless they refuse to believe you,
it's better to do this. OR he said that Euthniphro could also
recuse himself and let someone else prosecute his father so
Euthniphro doesn't have a moral conflict or interests. That's
perfectly legal too. Not all things are black and white, there
are no defining edges, there are always countless shades of grey
in-between White and Black. I thought that that needed to be
       said.

No I do not know how to spell. Especially Greek/Roman names.

Mary, if I had the dialogue in front of me, I'd cite the exact
text, but Socrates' issue with Euthyphro was not simply that he
was prosecuting his father, but that he was absolutely certain
that what he was doing was right. The circumstances must be
remembered here: his father's slave had killed another person,
so his father bound him then forgot about him. Not to say this
was a good thing to do, but again, Socrates' point is that one
must be absolutely certain when leveling a charge against
someone, and particularly so when that person is one's father.
