Re: Home Sweet Hovel

Corelia slowly shakes her head, her yellow locks swaying with
the motion. Her eyes turn away for a moment as she gives her
answer, to her brother.
At that moment, Catalin sits up with a yawn. His sister smiles
and hurries over to him and kneels while he rubs his eyes
tiredly, and he motions to the fireplace where the fire was
recently doused. The water separates itself from the ash and
flies through the air to his face, where it splashes and he rubs
it further. "I swear, Elli, I have the strangest dreams on
shopping day." He reaches up and pulls Corelia's face down to
his and gives her a light kiss on the cheek while she blushes
and points over to Lili. "There was a g-" He stops and pulls
his hood over his head, shadowing his face as he remembers that
they're not alone. "Hello," he says neutrally.
"Kitten, this is Lili," Corelia says quietly to her brother,
hugging him from behind. All of a sudden she seems entirely
more at ease, smiling more easily and even speaking slightly
louder. "She's nice," she whispers.
"Lili..." he whispers back, seeming to expect something more.
"...Lilibeth."

Lilibeth simply watched as Corelia's brother woke up and readied
himself for the day, a friendly grin on her face, her only reply
to his passive greeting, being a friendly wave and a slight
widening of her grin.
This grin grew threefold at the words Corelia whispered, and
with her blinding grin firmly in place, Lilibeth crossed the
room to offer her dirty hand, extended in greeting to this
"Kitten."
"Hi! I'm Lilibeth, you're Cat, right? Corelia's told me all
about you." Lilibeth said, good humour twinkling in her green
eyes, as she extended her hand to him.
"I just wanted to say thanks, by the way. Thanks for getting me
off the streets, and patching me up. Nice bit of healing there,
too." Lili added, her grin widening somewhat, her voice friendly
and thankful.

Catalin looks back at Lilibeth (presumably, though it's hard to
make out his eyes under the shadow of his hood) levelly for a
moment, unsmiling. When he makes no immediate response, Corelia
nudges his arm and he reaches out his hand to take hers.
"Catalin," he says simply as he gives her a firm, quick
handshake, withdrawing almost immediately. All about him, huh?
He doubts that very much. Nice or not, and granted that he is
her favorite topic of conversation, she just doesn't open up
like that.
"Thank her, not me. Is there anything else you need?" he asks
bluntly, going straight to business. Judging from the amount of
liquid in her belly, she's been fed. He'd need to speak with
his sister about that. Their food is not something to be taken
lightly. Corelia eyes him and shakes him. Come on, couldn't he
be a little bit more open and welcoming, since she really can't?

Woah, this guy was colder than the marble floors of Ambershard
Manor in the morning! He seemed the very opposite of the
friendly (although quiet) Corelia, and Lilibeth wasn't sure how
exactly they got on as well as they seemed to. Maybe he was just
untrusting of strangers? Not a bad quality to have, Lilibeth
admitted.
Slightly taken aback by his businesslike response, Lilibeth
looked puzzled and her grin faded slightly, but she didn't frown
or look insulted, instead simply stepping back a little, her
smile still present, although less wide.
"But.. Corelia said that you're the one who healed me? I.. just
wanted to thank you for that." Lilibeth piped up again, glancing
up from the stalwart male to look at Corelia again, curious to
see if this is how he always acted around new people.
After a moments thought, Lilibeth grinned again, fishing in her
pocket for something, before withdrawing a rather full looking
coin-pouch.
"You did some top-notch healing, by the way! I'm gonna have to
insist on reimbursing you for it. Oh, and for the delicious soup
your sister made! I must say I've not had better for a good long
time." The earthbender added, looking up to give Corelia a
thankful nod as well, her friendly grin, wide again.

"I did," Catalin replies in response to her assertion that it
was him. "It was her idea, though." Corelia shakes him again,
and it's clear from her resigned expression that this is
something she deals with often. She blushes and smiles at the
compliment to her culinary skills. "As for payment, could you
at least wait until I'm done to pay me? There's still a slight
bit of damage that I didn't get to yet." He waves his hand over
his face and the water he splashed over it rises to cover his
hand.
"Come on, Kitten, we need the money," Corelia says quietly.
"If we need it, then we'll earn it. I won't take it for a job
left half-done."

As Catalin begins speaking again, it takes a little effort on
Lilibeth's part to tear her eyes away from Corelia and her
smile, in order to reply.
"Hmm? Oh, is there? It feels like most everything was healed
up.." Lilibeth asked, somewhat distractedly, as she turned her
attention back to Catalin, eying the water surrounding his hand
with interest, still smiling happily.

"Not all damage is visible or even obtrusive, but it doesn't
make it any less dangerous. Sometimes the ones that leave no
mark..." He trails off, drawing a sympathetic squeeze from his
sister. He shakes his head and raises his hands, the water
spreading to both. "Then, with your permission..." Upon
receiving it, he brings his hands to her temples and the water
begins glowing, spreading across her head gently, soothingly,
even if there is no pain registering. His right hand is
callused and worn, but the left is mostly smooth. Both are
marred by several scars on the palm side and back side.
A small smile creeps onto his face for half a moment while he
works, the shadow under his hood lifted slightly by the light of
the healing. It ends when his work does, withdrawing his hands
from her head and bending the water into the bucket near the
fireplace. "It's done. Now you can pay if you feel it's
necessary."

Lilibeth sat with surprising patience while Catalin worked, the
normally fidgety and adventurous woman proving able to sit still
long enough for the waterbender to finish his healing works.
"Woah, that actually Does feel a little better. Sorta.. kinda
hard to tell any difference, really, but better safe than sorry,
I guess!" Lilibeth commented as she stood, a wide grin on her
face.
Without a moments more hesitation, she reached into her coin
pouch, and, after taking a couple of golden coins out of it and
storing them in her pockets, threw it to the bender who had
healed her, grinning, and calling out: "Catch!"

"Buh-" Catalin recoils slightly and flails out to catch the
airborne bag, missing it by a mile if his arms were that long.
It's stopped inches from his face by Corelia reaching up from
her embrace to snatch it out of the air.
He turns his head away and takes the bag from her hand, leaving
it free to return to around him, where she squeezes him tighter.
The previous look in her eyes is replaced by a look of fear and
her head retreats farther back behind her brother. "Please be
more careful," she breathes out timidly. "My brother...he..."

At the reaction that the throwing of her coin-pouch caused,
Lilibeth flinched, looking guilty and absolutely mortified.
"Oh! S-sorry! I didn't mean to.. I.." The earthbender said,
awkwardly, her hands outstretched in apology, her expression one
of guilt at having nearly hit Cat, and at having upset Corelia
so thoroughly.
