So Johnson attends what he describes as a "work event" (as
opposed to a party), aware that many, allegedly responsible for
work of "national importance" are consuming alcohol.
Evidently this is normal. So how would we feel about, for
example, the air traffic controller, who having had a hectic
hour on radar, pops off to the canteen for a couple of stiff
ones before returning to duty?

If I was a cartoonist I'd be drawing a scene including a
stripagram, someone photocopying their arse, a couple snogging
in deep embrace, others having to pass an orange from one to
another using just the chin and neck, a buffet table, and people
with drinks. Call it "just another day at the office"

I mean, the PM is just a civil servant at the end of the day,
and when I was in the civil service, we'd piss it up at lunch
all the time.

I suppose that the more Johnson is dead drunk under the table,
the better off the country is.

If Johnson really did leave the party after only 25 minutes, I'd
suggest that it's highly likely that he'd just twigged that he'd
left his coke upstairs.

According to the leaked mail, 100 people were invited to this
"Work event".
Does this mean that about 60/70 of them are just lazy b*sterds ?

I agree but I understand you had to add 'drunk under the table'
for legal reasons 😋
