       Canada Slips Into Technical Recession

       Economic growth stalled in the 1st quarter leading to a 2nd
       consecutive decline in real gross domestic product which meets
       the technical definition of a recession.
       3 of the last 4 quarters have posted negative real GDP growth.
       Business capital investment fell for a fifth consecutive
       quarter.
       weak resale activity in the housing market also hurt the
       first-quarter figures.
       April might have seen an uptick in GDP by a small amount, but
       the growth of the Canadian economy is pretty stagnant which is
       why it's so hard for people to find jobs, when companies slow
       capital investment jobs are lost.
