Big trouble in Jalisco!

The Mexican government made an attack against one of (if not
the) most powerful cartels in the country this morning, killing
it's leader and supposedly other ranking members. Tourists in
Puerto Vallarta have been told to shelter in place while the
cartel burns businesses and vehicles, and inbound flights to PV
and Guadalajara have been reportedly diverted.

I was watching flights to some Mexican airports turning around
and diverting. Westjet Edmonton to Puerto Vallarta (PVR)
diverted to Phoenix, Arizona.
Delta Minneapolis to PVR diverted to Guadalajara, Mexico (GDL).
Westjet YVR to PVR diverted shortly after departing YVR back to
YVR.
American Airlines Dallas to PVR diverted to San Antonio, Texas.
Looks like the Delta aircraft that diverted to GDL made it out
of GDL I hope the passengers were able to leave with the plane.

I know a few people who are down in Mexico for a winter break -
stuck there presently.
